<d1b2> <bburky> git.io supports custom url slugs if you want a nicer shortened url
<d1b2> <bburky> (I personally dislike url shorteners, but if you physically don't have room it makes sense.)
<d1b2> <esden> yes glasgow-embedded.org is the domain it will be pointing to the git.io page when we have one.
<d1b2> <esden> currently it redirects to the campaign page
<d1b2> <esden> this is the domain currently featured on the aluminium case
<d1b2> <esden> (I mean github.io page with documentation when we have that)
<d1b2> <esden> We really should start thinking about "proper" documentation and a landing page for the project.

<apo> marcan: do you even need to pipe sed into sed? That seems unnecessary
<marcan> readability
<apo> fair enough
<cyborg_ar> it actually looks kinda neat
<cyborg_ar> like brutalistic building type of neat
<d1b2> <stefandeml> just quickly checking: the glasglow support similar exposure of JTAG to OpenOCD as for example the well known FT232H chips?

<whitequark> stefandeml: you can use openocd remote bitbang protocol with glasgow, which requires glasgow software

<d1b2> <zipferli> https://github.com/GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow/issues/255 Does somebody know if "Fix reset button part number" involves changing the footprint? The current one seems to be a real pain to source other than using the exact mentioned part number, or maybe my parametric search voodoo has left me
<d1b2> <zipferli> Oh nevermind, just saw its only about the actuator length and force. Too bad 😄
<electronic_eel> zipferli: yeah, the issue is just about getting the correct lenght + force. the footprint stays the same. LCSC stocks several of these buttons, once you know length + force required sourcing them should be easy

<electronic_eel> esden: here is a version with the glasgow-embedded.org url on the back silkscreen: https://imgur.com/qFhX6yl
<electronic_eel> I prefer a full domain we control over some shortener, the shortener could be gone in a few years, github turned evil or something the like
<d1b2> <Attie> me too - looks good, just need the "ok" from whitequark
<d1b2> <Attie> the "VDAC" for port A looks very close to the edge... worth a rotate?... port B could probably benedit too. looks like you've tried hard you keep everything horizontal though...
<electronic_eel> I think esden or timonsku changed them late in the revC2 prototype stage. they were using smaller fonts previously
<whitequark> electronic_eel: i'd prefer 'http://glasgow-embedded.org'
<whitequark> but otherwise lgtm
<electronic_eel> whitequark: no problem, will change to http
<electronic_eel> I like the arrangement of the vdac a/b thing, but would make them smaller a bit so that they don't look as tight-pressed as they currently are
<tnt> I would have said https but turns out https doesn't work.
<electronic_eel> the forwarder esden currently uses doesn't seem to support https
<electronic_eel> here is the new version with http:// and the VDAC silk a bit reduced: https://imgur.com/p88Uw3a
<d1b2> <Attie> i'd also prefer to put https... and get that fixed - ping @esden
<electronic_eel> @Attie I don't know how much effort that will be for esden - the dns currently points to hover.com, which is a domain registrar. when looking at their faq their forwarding service is just basic http, no https
<electronic_eel> so that would mean esden has to setup a http/https + letsencrypt on a server of his and change the dns
<electronic_eel> don't know if he has time for this right now
<electronic_eel> i don't think putting https on there is that important, but what we put on there should really work

<d1b2> <Attie> @electronic_eel - very true... I'd be happy to do it on one of my servers (it's something I'm familiar enough with, and can do it quickly)
<d1b2> <Attie> https vs http is probably not super important, and i don't think there's any significant / immediate time pressure(?)
<d1b2> <Attie> (when is revC3 going to be released?)
DarthCloud has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<electronic_eel> @Attie: if i understood esden correctly, he plans to order some revC3 very soon, so that they will be shipped out before chinese new year
<electronic_eel> that is why i pushed so hard with all the qualification stuff and the revC3 changes
<d1b2> <Attie> oh wow, i've already hit the cutoff for chinese new year on a project...
<d1b2> <Attie> (and well done / thanks!)

<d1b2> <Attie> I'll leave it up to you / @esden to decide re HTTP(S), and the offer is there if it's wanted
<electronic_eel> so the points left over for revC3 are mostly for esden to fix
<_whitenotifier> [glasgow] electroniceel assigned issue #255: Schematics & Layout TODO for revC3 - https://git.io/JL7A2
<d1b2> <esden> I will set up the https redirect later today after the stream.
<d1b2> <esden> It is not a big deal to set up.
<d1b2> <esden> (Bummer hover does not do it :/)
<electronic_eel> they probably don't want to deal with tons of certificates
<electronic_eel> ok, then i'll change the silkscreen
