<willmore> Hello, everyone. Is there an exynos based chromebook that is well supported?
<javier__> willmore: Snow (Exynos5250), Peach Pi (Exynos5800) and Pit (Exynos5420) are well supported
<willmore> I keep seeing the HP Chromebook.
<willmore> javier__, is the HP F3X85AA one of those?
<willmore> I guess that's 'spring'.
<javier__> willmore: I believe that's the Spring
<willmore> Ahh, The key to support seems to be samsung chromebooks.
<javier__> willmore: yes, there is support in mainline but I don't remember how complete it was
<javier__> for spring that is, afaerber should know more
<willmore> Okay, thank you. I"ll ignore the HP chromebooks and look for the Samsung ones.
<willmore> Thank you.
<willmore> I just want a well supported ARM based laptop and the exynos chromebooks are hard to pass up for the price. ;)
<javier__> willmore: yw, basically all peripherals are working besides audio speakers and jack
<willmore> javier__, for the Samsungs or the HP?
* willmore doesn't need audio.
<javier__> for the Samsung, I don't know what's missing for the HP
<willmore> Okay, thanks.
<willmore> FWIW, on the linux-exynos wiki, the HP page looks more like it should have been left a red link--there's not anything non-template there. :(
<willmore> But, something is better than nothing.
<javier__> willmore: the linux-exynos wiki isn't an indication of the support in mainline for the machines
<javier__> maybe support for spring was finished, I can't remember the deatils and I never had access to one
<javier__> *details
<afaerber> javier__: it was working okay at some point, but my display has issues and the SD card stopped working and so far I've not had the patience to debug a new boot setup with a black screen ;(
<willmore> javier__, understood.
<willmore> Looks like 'snow' laptops are available for not much more than the HP.
<javier__> afaerber: fair enough :)
<willmore> javier__, thanks for the info. I'll read them *before*. :)
<javier__> willmore: Ok :)
<willmore> Well, it's good to know where the corners are before you paint yourself into them. :)
<willmore> Looks pretty straight forward. Thanks for the links, javier__.
<javier__> willmore: yw
