<Nyuutwo>
I have problem with my tablet
<Nyuutwo>
I have checked voltages on lcd connector
<Nyuutwo>
and they are the same as on android
<Nyuutwo>
but always black screen
<Nyuutwo>
LVDS connection to LCD, fex copied from android
<hramrach>
andriod often ignores lots of fex info so fex data from andriod is often bogus
<hramrach>
and there are some pwm pins and lcd enable pins
<mnemoc>
vendors have the bad habit of hardcoding stuff in their gpl-violating kernels :/
<hramrach>
and is it black as in no picture or as in no backlight?
<Nyuutwo>
hramrach: black az no picture
<Nyuutwo>
unplug lcd an I see backlight
<hramrach>
then try to look in the fex guide on linux-sunxi.org
<hramrach>
and verify the fex is correct for using a LCD
<Nyuutwo>
fb0_scaler_mode_enable what this option does?
<hramrach>
and try to find out what LCD type you have and if the fex is correct for that type
<hramrach>
Nyuutwo: it does black maic
<hramrach>
magic
<hramrach>
some stuff works when it is enabled and other stuff when it is disabled :s

in some cases it is even logical - like you cannot use the scaler yourself when disp already does.

<rz2k>
Nyuutwo: find dataasheet for your LCD panel and doublecheck that your .fex is right
<rz2k>
essentially in clock/hsync/vsync
<Nyuutwo>
rz2k: tried
<Nyuutwo>
couldn't find datasheet

<rz2k>
do you have 150MHz + oscilloscope around? :p
<rz2k>
because if you cant find the datasheet for your panel, the only left thing to do is measure how it works in android and compare that to what you have when you load the default .fex with community kernel

then capture at least one frame and decode it accordingly to the protocol of your display. also you are completely sure that your lcd is lvds?
<Nyuutwo>
rz2k: only 12 lines traced on PCB like differential pairs
<Nyuutwo>
1024x600
<Nyuutwo>
I was tracing rgmii so i think i can do also LVDS

Nyuutwo: why where you tracing rgmii and on what board?
<Nyuutwo>
oliv3r: switch chip from atheros and mikrotik
<Nyuutwo>
config goes on MDIO
<Nyuutwo>
but it adds later some werid vlan/port tags
<oliv3r>
ah okay

hi, anyone familiar with interfacing the cubie to touch screens?
<focus>
oliv3r: I take your suggestion and wire up a cubie and LCD and see if I can get touch working this weekend - then upload all the info for anyone to copy :)
<focus>
thank you very much

the driver may need some tuning via the fex file
<focus>
ok - i work on it until i got something going

oo look itead has lcds as well -http://blog.iteadstudio.com/ i got 2 of them today through post (A10 boards) to play with :)
<focus>
it came with CD
<focus>
not sure what the cd contains yet
<focus>
they support kicad - not sure if they will release their board into kicad though - and i doubt it was done in kicad as well

Turl: considering 4.4 requires 512MB... shouldn't we aim at that for sunxi?
<focus>
they seem to release some of their stuff open sourced

<libv>
oh wow, indiegogo and kickstarter really have opened the floodgates, haven't they...
<focus>
libv: i can barely believe they were allowed to do that :)
<focus>
between them they make so many products real overnight
<focus>
i bought by first cubieboards, pengponds and other things from indiegogo and kickstarter
<focus>
formlabs 3d printer
<focus>
3d scannier
<libv>
and quite a few have discovered linux-sunxi, seen that a lot of the work has been done or will be done, and bring sunxi and those funding sites together in a calculation that probably ends in "loads o $$$$$$"
<focus>
who funds linux-sunxi?
<libv>
focus: so you actually actively supported this
<libv>
focus: mnemoc knows someone with hardware which is not overly used
<focus>
me i do gplsquared = you give me something gpl'd and i give it back to you free with added bells and whistles gpl'd
<focus>
:D
<focus>
that be what gplsquared means
<focus>
i recently did an exhibition and number of microshaftees that approached me asking what gplsquared was!! The utter toe rags!
<focus>
i never tell them
<techn__>
should usb1 and 2 work with cubietruck?

my highest priority is get IoT moving - cubieboard like board + LCD + touch with all the software gpl'd and all the hardware in kicad for anyone to copy past and make their own gadgets - add to that 3d printed parametric cases for netbooks and gagdet cases soon :D all free :D

hello
<focus>
who wants to build me a digital version of a quantum computer? runs 10x to 100x clock speed of a typical computer. It won't run linux - not unless every line of code is written properly. the memory chips also have to be redesigned to make equivalent of entangled quantum memory - the effective throughput is 100x of DDR. Games - new controllers need to be designed and they be working at leat 10x better.
<focus>
troll! :D (may be)

focus: at least this kickstarter is about providing special hw, so it does have something going for it...
<libv>
err, indiegogo
<libv>
but sadly not open hw
<libv>
hrm, i just wanted to look at how high the mali is supposed to be clocked on the a20
<libv>
is the pvr in a31 really clocked at 200MHz?
<libv>
if so, the mali 400mp2 at 350MHz really does not seem that much slower
<libv>
afaict, a mali 400mp4 at that frequency could've taken an pvr 544mp2 at 200mhz, and made everyones life a lot easier :)
<Turl>
libv: what about battery life and heat on that big a process?
<libv>
no idea :)
