<y0g1>
Dodger78: how is your progress with 3.14 on cubietruck ?
Skaag has joined #linux-sunxi

<y0g1>
hello, who knowes what should I chose in kernel config option ARM system type: Allow multiple platforms to be selected or any other? I will run it on cubietruck.
Skaag has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<Dodger78>
im searching for a cubietruck default config as well for 3.14
<wens>
y0g1: select allow multiple platforms, then select sunxi
<y0g1>
wens: ok
<y0g1>
does 3.14 for cubietruck can run form sata drive?
<y0g1>
:%s/form/from
<wens>
you can use sunxi_defconfig, then add USB (OHCI/EHCI), AHCI, STMMAC, all of them platform drivers
<y0g1>
I have got /boot on mmc, but rootfs on sata
<wens>
are you using sunxi-devel? or vanilla 3.14?
<y0g1>
wens: vanilla 3.14-rc6
<wens>
only sunxi-devel will have all the stuff I just listed
<y0g1>
wens: i have got external lan and wlan, so I need support for sata and mmc only
<wens>
how do you have external lan and wlan?
<y0g1>
wens: ath9k_htc to support hostapd and asix as second wired ethernet for my tv
<y0g1>
wens: i use also internal wired lan (gmac) so I will check sunxi-devel
<wens>
aren't those usb-based? we don't have USB support in 3.14
<y0g1>
or I have to replace old uImage with newer one and that is all?

y0g1: to be honest, I don't know what you mean by dtb, but just replacing the uImage should be sufficient
Skaag has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: my fault, I should write arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20-cubietruck.dtb
<ArdaXi>
that shouldn't be necessary for the sunxi kernel
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: ArdaXi thx
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: how about gmac driver in sunxi-devel 3.14-rc6 ? I can't see any. There is only Allwinner A10 EMAC support. Is it the same for cubietruck?
<ArdaXi>
there should be a gmac module in the kernel
<ArdaXi>
have you tried searching for gmac?
<ArdaXi>
I'm looking at the kernel myself now, see where it is exactly
<ArdaXi>
y0g1: under D
<ArdaXi>
Device Drivers -> Network Driver Support -> Ethernet driver support
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: I am looking
<ArdaXi>
there should be an entry Sunxi platform 10/100/1000mbps Ethernet driver
deasy has joined #linux-sunxi
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: I don't have it, maybe some dependency is missing
<ArdaXi>
I just realised that I'm not on 3.14, I'm using the 3.4.79 sunxi kernel
<ArdaXi>
but the only relevant dependency would be ARCH_SUN71
<ArdaXi>
which should be under system type
<y0g1>
ArdaXi: I have it, but there is no Sunxi platform 10/100/1000. I am using 3.4.79 also and did make oldconfig based on 3.4.79, but there is too many diffs

ijc, hi, I've been working on sun4i u-boot support on top of the sun7i series you've send for getting sunxi support upstream. See the patches I've just send to the list.
<wens>
y0g1: wait for 3.15, the patches are already queued
<mrnuke>
wens: that's where BROM loads the bootblock
<wens>
so it's general purpose after boot?
<mrnuke>
yeah

<hansg>
Dodger78, yeah
<Dodger78>
can you provide me your kernel config
<Dodger78>
i got problems compiling
<Dodger78>
im using the JWR git repo , u2 ?
<wens>
Dodger78: that's hansg's repo :p
<Dodger78>
yes , the guy from netherland or not ? :-)
<Dodger78>
is jwr = hansg ?
<wens>
Dodger78: jwrdegoede = hansg
<Dodger78>
cool ! perfect
<hansg>
Yes, the j in jwr stands for johannes
<Dodger78>
i just need a running .config for your sunxi-devel-jwr branch, so i can exclude the chance that my kernel is causing my problems
<Dodger78>
transfer doesnt seem to work, can you mail it maybe ? simonmail@gmx.de
<hansg>
Dodger78, send by mail
<Dodger78>
also im struggeling with boot.scr settings, LOADADDR for kernel is always 40008000 or not ? but where do i load script.bin and the uImage ? found several different adresses
<hansg>
If you've a u-boot from the official linux-sunxi git repo you will only get one core (but everything else should work fine)
<Dodger78>
wow , you almost enabled all modules right ? :-P universal kernel
<hansg>
Dodger78, yeah, this is derived from the Fedora kernel config, it is intended as a distro kernel. But I've made all the important sunxi bits built-in so you can boot with just the uImage
<hansg>
I've got to go, good luck with getting your board up and running.
