<libv>
wens: we should have enough info to pull the new style dram para from boot0s though

i can set any resolution as long as it doesn't have more pixels than originally

any meta-sunxi enthusiasts around?
<rz2k>
why angstrom OE setup is so slow with building software? with -j2 and bitbake threads = 2 (so 2 packages building the same time with -j2 using all 4 kernels) it is still horribly slow comparing to yocto (speaking with regarding to fsl-meta-arm).
<rz2k>
I'm building core-image second hour now, when on fsl setup everything is really faster than this.

iirc yocto compiles it all the time. maybe core-image in yocto and angstrom has lots of differences

and angstrom one has way more packages.

just realized that he build everything for cubieboard1 when he has cubietruck

time to rebuild everything!

<buZz>
but .. wouldnt that not work? as keyboard/mouse can only be grabbed by one system?
<Turl>
buZz: I'd guess you'd need two of each
<Turl>
buZz: the single xserver should work with just one though, why are you not using it?
lauri__ is now known as lauri
<quitte_>
buZz: It's possible to have a keyboard and a mouse assigned to only one xserver. something with evdev iirc
<buZz>
Turl: it works, -but- synergy has massive issues figuring out which screen to apply its xtest magic too
<Turl>
ah, synergy
<Turl>
buZz: you could run 2 clients then?
<buZz>
it cant overspan two different screens, unless they are part of one framebuffer, but my two screens are different resolution, so merged framebuffer is no-go it seems
<buZz>
yeah but doesnt work cause xtest seems to not play well with more than one manipulator :P
<buZz>
it will end with both clients actually controlling one screen
<buZz>
even on current git etc
<Turl>
don't you need to run it with a DISPLAY= set etc?
<Turl>
odd
<quitte_>
buZz: you can configure X such that you have one xserver on two seperate screeens. this is different from a xinerama setup and allows two different sessions
<buZz>
this is what i am aiming for now
<buZz>
just running two xorgs and having either just one or none connect to actual mouse and keyboard
<quitte_>
yes. why? if he wants to control it as a single user two screens are the way to go. as it was done before xinerama
<buZz>
i want to use lapdock + 19" vga screen hooked to cubieboard to move all terminals away from my main desktop
<buZz>
and still control all with one keyboard and mouse
konradoo77 has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<buZz>
quitte_: the problem being that xtest doesnt want two clients configuring it
<buZz>
quitte_: only one xtest trick will work per server, it seems
<buZz>
thus one screen
<buZz>
also there is some powersaving that gets one or both screens black and never come back :P
konradoo77 has joined #linux-sunxi
<buZz>
heh cute, if i now start the second xorg, the first one stops displaying :D

and it still grabs keyboard, damnit!

<hramrach>
how can I use the volume buttons on a tablet?
<Turl>
hramrach: you can press them with your finger and bam! magic :p
<hramrach>
nothing happens
<Turl>
hramrach: they make a great way to turn volume up/down in fact
<Turl>
maybe you haven't loaded the driver then
<hramrach>
what is the driver?
<Turl>
sun4i-keyboard I think
<Turl>
or keypad
<Turl>
let me check
<Turl>
hramrach: keyboard
alexbart has joined #linux-sunxi
<hramrach>
ERROR: could not insert 'sun4i_keyboard': No such device
<alexbart>
hi everybody
<hramrach>
hello
<Turl>
hramrach: anything on the log? maybe you have tabletkeys_used=0 on the fex
<alexbart>
i have 1 simple question.. i use cubietruck with aruntu image, good image in my opinion based on ubuntu 13.10, already present some script of initialize
<hramrach>
tkey_used = 0
rz2k has quit []
<hramrach>
kp_used = 0
<Turl>
hramrach: the driver looks for [tabletkeys_para]->tabletkeys_used
<Turl>
you may want to check that
<alexbart>
my question is, i would like change the GPIO setting to use a tty to connect arduino port without use USB port on arduino board
<Turl>
alexbart: do you have a level shifter?
<hramrach>
that assumes some i2c keyboard
<alexbart>
i didnt fint .fex file but i find sunxi-tools installed
<Turl>
hramrach: eh?
<alexbart>
level shifter for what?
<Turl>
hramrach: sun4i-keyboard is lradc
<Turl>
alexbart: iirc the arduino is 5v? and the cubietruck 3v3
<hramrach>
tkey_twi_id = 2
<hramrach>
tkey_twi_addr = 0x62
Andy-D has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<Turl>
hramrach: maybe your keys are not on the lradc
<Turl>
another option to consider
<hramrach>
I have no idea where they are
<alexbart>
mh... anyway i can use a level shift
<hramrach>
the fex file has no keys defined
<hramrach>
alexbart: why level-shift instead of usb?
<Turl>
hramrach: the drivers have some defaults for keys
<hramrach>
usb is cheaper and works with every device
<alexbart>
coz my usb are full
<Turl>
hramrach: try adding a [tabletkeys_para] tabletkeys_used=1 and try again

<Turl>
alexbart: I'm pretty sure they're all 3v3 level
<Turl>
but double check with somebody else

I really haven't used it much, sorry
<ijc>
is it "sata scan" or "scsi scan", I can't remember off hand. One of those should detect the disk though
<ijc>
"{scsi/sata} scan" is nonsense though. There is one command but I don't remember if it scsi or sata, you shoujld try both, one of them will be a syntax errro
<NTU>
i dont need a script.bin or uimage line?

and yes i used that as just a reference for IRC
