mozzwald: there is an ssd2828 driver in u-boot, and it allows you to use simplefb in linux
<ssvb>
what kind of device or devboard are you using?
<mozzwald>
ssvb: I have a marsboard A20 that I just dusted off and I'm looking to use it with a 640x960 iphone 4 mipi dsi lcd
<mozzwald>
I don't even have an ssd2828 dev board yet, but I'm planning to make my own. I wanted to figure out if the drivers were available before I continue with designing a board
<ssvb>
I think that it's best to start with u-boot in any case, and make sure that you get your lcd working with it
<mozzwald>
just got mainline u-boot and linux to boot on the marsboard today. and I did see the uboot addition for ssd2828. is it just a matter of uboot setting it up, then it works in the kernel with simplefb?
<cognos>
So, if I got this right, I need both the kernel and libcec patched? Cause in the german forum, as far as I understand, there's just a patch for the libcec library, am I right?
<cognos>
Forget it: 1. Für alle die ihren Kernel selbst kompilieren wollen, habe ich eine diff Datei erstellt. Einfach die Datei in euer Linux source Verzeichnis kopieren und mit patch -p1 < sunxi_cecV2.patch anwenden.
<rellla>
thats it
<cognos>
Sorry, being from spain does not help with the german :D
<cognos>
Will test asap your info and it'll be great if somebody puts this in the wiki yes. Been struggling to find infos for the last couple of days... It never occured to me to search in german ;) Thank you so much!
<rellla>
somebody could be cognos ...
<cognos>
Sure thing, thought it will require someone with more knowledge. I'm just a guy messing around
<rellla>
once tested hdmi cec, you will be one of the persons, that know most about cec ...

and +/-5C over 100C

which probably means one in a20 has similar accuracy
<tkaiser>
KotCzarny: The sensor in A20 is something completely different (part of TS controller) and was not even mentioned in datasheet IIRC

ahm.

I wonder whether EMAC and GMAC can be used in parallel with R40?
<KotCzarny>
2 usb hosts :/
<tkaiser>
EMAC as WAN port and GMAC connected to a switch IC to build a non-crap Lamobo R1 successor?
<KotCzarny>
tkaiser, unlikely it will be non-crap, given that its hard to saturate gbit on a20 anyway
pg12 has joined #linux-sunxi
<KotCzarny>
nice, sata is there. wonder if it still supports port multipliers
<tkaiser>
But that's R40 now, true? Ethernet IP block might be the same as on H3, A64, A83T...
<tkaiser>
SATA reads exactly the same as with A20 :(
<tkaiser>
But maybe we need the 1.0 version instead of 0.1 since too much stuff might now just be the result of 'copy&paste gone wrong'
<montjoie>
tkaiser: I think EMAC will be the same as A20 but Crypto seems like H3/A64
<KotCzarny>
yup
<apritzel>
tkaiser: at least the EMAC seems to be connected to _two_ set of pins, only one being multiplexed with the GMAC

I had some hope we get 'H3 with SATA' but DRAM clockspeed reads discouraging. Let's wait an see how BSP will look like :)
<KotCzarny>
h3 still has crap bandwidth

<KotCzarny>
did you test eth0/usb0 under cpu/mem load? (ie with video playing at 1080p)
lemonzest has joined #linux-sunxi
<tkaiser>
KotCzarny: The first I do is to disable HDMI to get more memory bandwidth. And why would I watch video on an SBC? GbE and USB performance is just fine on H3.
<KotCzarny>
its just an example that it has quite limited internal bandwidth
<KotCzarny>
did you test it with encrypted fs?
<KotCzarny>
or with multiple ssl/vpn connections?
<tkaiser>
KotCzarny: Forget it. You're talking about stuff that is CPU bound, right? If CPU is the bottleneck, then throughput looks bad. Since CPU and not bandwidth.
<tkaiser>
H3 is cheap. If I want the stuff you're talking about then I choose a more expensive SoC suited for the use case (Armada 38x for example)

depends, if i need performance, i use userspace with scripting

interactive is wrong word, quirky is better
<KotCzarny>
erm, evil is wrong word, quirky is better

I have an oldish offbrand tablet deal, IdeaUSA CT802, it's an allwinner a10 device I believe. I was trying to build a newer twrp version for it and in the process found some prebuilt ones, so I tried them out just to test, the second one booted but had no touch response and adb wasn't functional past saying it saw the device(adb shell etc didn't respond. I went looking and found livesuit, I can get the
<Raku>
tablet in to the FEL mode, but all images I try to load fail. I'm on arch linux, and I compiled the latest livesuit from git
