<ysionneau> I'm probably not the right person to list the cool features of NetBSD since I only chose based on those anecdotes
<ysionneau> but some facts are that among the goals of the projects are : do things the right way (who don't ? I don't know) *and* be very portable

<ysionneau> First try at pushing NetBSD kernel binary to the real Milkymist One hardware through flterm
<ysionneau> obviously nothing shows up
<ysionneau> retrying just in case :)
<ysionneau> same thing for 2nd try :(
<ysionneau> Let's try to use gdb on the M1 :) (never tried gdb on lm32 on anything else than qemu)
bvernoux has joined #m-labs
<sb0> you should use netboot
<sb0> flterm takes forever
<ysionneau> yes it's slow
<davidc__> sb0: you see what I said about Lattice stuff?
<bvernoux> hi
<bvernoux> does anyone here have backed and received a parallella board ?
<ysionneau> sb0: is it possible to debug via GDB *and* to use flterm (both connected to the same /dev/ttyUSB0 then) to type something in the bios ?
<ysionneau> can both read-write ttyUS0?
<ysionneau> ah ok, gdb-passthrough :)
<ysionneau> seems to work, cool
<ysionneau> humm is it normal that if I do set $pc=0x40000000 then "si" it executes at pc= 0x10000020 ? ^^"
<ysionneau> does it only report PC>>2 (since PC inside lm32 core is only 30 bits)
<ysionneau> ah, I guess it means I'm debugging the debugger...
<sb0> davidc__, yes, I saw it
<davidc__> sb0: I'll get it to ya at some point, but probably not what you were looking for
<ysionneau> what's monitor.rom ?
<ysionneau> ah, I guess it's for jtag
<ysionneau> I don't think I care then
<mwalle> larsc: (localparam some long time ago) i opened a case for that problem some time ago, but xilinx only said "use vivadi (or whatever the name for the new tools is)
<ysionneau> gn8
<mwalle> hi ysionneau
<mwalle> :)
<mwalle> and yeah, the you already found the passthrough parameter ;)
<mwalle> ysionneau: you could try software breakpoints with single stepping, which might or might not work better
<mwalle> i dont know if you can make gdb use soft/hardware breakpoints for singlestepping
