<cr1901_modern> sb0: (when you get home from work) Is it currently possible to use MiGen with CPLDs? I'm guessing yes and no. Yes, if I manually assign all pins, no if I want Xilinx's software to do it for me.
<cr1901_modern> The GenericProgrammer superclass wants me to supply _io connections. http://www.xilinx.com/itp/xilinx10/help/iseguide/mergedProjects/cpldnew/whnjs.htm It seems like for CPLDs, the top-level module is autogenerated, so I don't know ahead of time which I/O pins to request.
<cr1901_modern> I think what I might do is just use fhdl to generate a "fake" top level module, and then use the Xilinx IDE to generate the pinout
<sb0> whitequark, http://www.finishing.com/81/47.shtml "Yes, the anodizing can be done in Coca-Cola"
<sb0> cr1901_modern, if you use the verilog cpld flow and add support for it in mibuild I don't see why that would not work
<cr1901_modern> sb0: I'll take a look into it. In the meantime, I'm just using fhdl structures and running verilog.convert at the end
<cr1901_modern> Migen actually makes me want to play with FPGAs again. I got sick of learning Verilog for the 5th time (I never retain all of it).

<cr1901_modern> One last q: What IS a submodule? I think I've been confusing them for Instances lol
<cr1901_modern> Can provide an example of what I'm trying to do if necessary
<cr1901_modern> Actually, here: http://pastebin.com/fFxrJrt8
<cr1901_modern> Not sure how to proceed based on line 16
<cr1901_modern> Nevermind, the Instance is indeed what I want, based on the manual- missed it in the Tristate special section
<sb0> just received my rotary vane pump from china. i'd call it mediocre. definitely a rougher design than the nice alcatel I had found in a german dumpster
<sb0> it seems to work though, and the university is also buying from the same company

Unbreakable has joined #m-labs
<Unbreakable> can this be used as a general purpose OpenGL compliant GPU for the milky soc
<sb0> why would you do that?
<Unbreakable> to generate even more abstract milkymist permutations
<Unbreakable> would the milkymist code fit onto the epiphanyiv FPGA?
<Unbreakable> just wondering if the 64 cores could be used to say do 3D displays for the milkymist
<Unbreakable> at High RES
<Unbreakable> XO
<whitequark> sb0: um, sure, if you don't need very good surface quality or repeatability
<whitequark> not to mention that just buying some citric acid, not to mention phosphoric, would work as well *and* be cheaper
<sb0> yes, but they don't sell it at 7-11 ;)
<whitequark> citric acid? they do
<Unbreakable> they should since supercomputer boards now are available on amazon
<whitequark> it's a food additive
<whitequark> or at least you can get it here in either a grocery store or pharmacy
Unbreakable has left #m-labs ["Leaving"]
<whitequark> and tbh "sold at 7-11" stikes me as a unnecessary requirement. with little searching you can get basic chemicals everywhere
<whitequark> which reminds me, I found a vendor of phosphoric acid just yesterday at a local market. I might just try electropolishing something in it

<cr1901_modern> whitequark: What rework station did you buy to work on BGAs?
