<tuxbrain>
my father says:"if it work don't touc it" :P
<tuxbrain>
touc->touch
<kristianpaul>
well..
<kristianpaul>
heh
<kristianpaul>
i dint work yet for me
<kristianpaul>
so i'm keep toiching
<kristianpaul>
touing ;)
<kristianpaul>
touching*
<tuxbrain>
shure I must say may father says just aftet, "Why in the name of all saints have you touch it!!!"
<tuxbrain>
:P
<tuxbrain>
aftet->after
<kristianpaul>
lol
<kristianpaul>
well
<kristianpaul>
i cant resist
<kristianpaul>
;)
<tuxbrain>
must leave
<kristianpaul>
bye
<cain__>
hi
<cain__>
I have a question
<cain__>
The serial port RX line is enabled ?
<cain__>
I'm trying to make a loopback and minicom
<cain__>
and doesn't works
<cain__>
:(
<cain__>
I mean RX of ttyS0
<Xakh>
so, what's new in fosslamd?
<Xakh>
*fossland
<Xakh>
any awesome new xburst ports?
<Xakh>
anyone here?
<Xakh>
zear: ping
<zear>
hey Xakh
<Xakh>
hiya
<zear>
not much here, working on my thesis
<Xakh>
ah. what's it on?
<zear>
boring stuff
<zear>
don't like google to know (this channel is monitored ;))
<Xakh>
haha alright
<tuxbrain_away>
cain__: using the lastest oficial uboot you must press Power+S to activate serial RX
<tuxbrain_away>
Power+S to boot the BNN
<cain__>
Hi David
<cain__>
is Carlos
<cain__>
I'm on SAKC :(
<cain__>
I've already wrote a simple program to change the RX pin functionality
<cain__>
works fine :)
<tuxbrain>
Hi carlos :) I was to writting you a mail :) are one of this boards on the way to tuxbrain yet?
<tuxbrain>
I have read some verilog tutorials and I realize I have done this before :)
<tuxbrain>
at University and I have was not bad at it
<tuxbrain>
Matricula de honor :P
<tuxbrain>
We use Altera soft instead of Verilog, and the acronim of HDL was diferent in Spanish
<tuxbrain>
I must say the things we do there where very "simple" and elevator with memory control, weather sensible irrigating sistem control etc... nothing compared implement a full cpu but at least I'm not so afraid to mess with the fpga :P, I think I can start a beguiners tutorial from a beguinner
<cain__>
Hi David
<cain__>
great, matricula de honor jejeje que nerd :)
<cain__>
I'm talking with some people here for mount 9 sakc boards
<cain__>
they have a pick and place machine
<cain__>
the first one I've soldered at hand
<cain__>
but is very tedious
<tuxbrain>
sure, too many pins and no value added to do so
<cain__>
yes
<cain__>
maybe this week we can mount the 9 boards
<cain__>
they will mount the boards for free  :)
<cain__>
so I'll be waiting for their call
<tuxbrain>
so then I guess the 10 saks already mounted have owner :) I hope we can see some publications from them
<cain__>
I'll send 5 to Europe, I think that one is for you
<cain__>
another for rafa
<cain__>
3 for me and my team
<tuxbrain>
from the already mounted or the next samples bathc?
<qwebirc22428>
hi
<tuxbrain>
hi qwebirc22428
<qwebirc22428>
any body from BRasil?
<tuxbrain>
methril is from there but I think is away now
<qwebirc22428>
tanks every all
<cain__>
I've already wrote some pages about HW/SW interface on SAKC
<cain__>
in spanish
<tuxbrain>
on the wiki? give link and I will take a read
<cain__>
wait
<tuxbrain>
cain__: what are the main difference between sack fpga and elphel/milkymist one?
<tuxbrain>
size?
<tuxbrain>
same modules can work on both without recoding?
<tuxbrain>
it's a pitty we don't have a free HDL compiler
<cain__>
sure
<tuxbrain>
having the fpga binary uploader, would be awesome to have full fpga related stuff needed inside SACK
<cain__>
but you can download webpack form xilinx
<cain__>
is free
<tuxbrain>
I'm not saying things are so bad :) just searching for the best :) , having a free as beer compiler for x86 arch is better than expensive propietary soft :)
<tuxbrain>
I hope it also works on 64bits arch
<cain__>
jeje
<cain__>
yes
<cain__>
I can configure the .bit file from SAKC
<cain__>
i don't need external applications
<cain__>
I'm using some GPIOs for drive de FPGA's JTAG port
<steve|m>
remembers some guy saying that he has a FPGA bitstream reverse engineering group at his university
<larsc>
do they pulish their results somewhere?
<cain__>
mmm great
<cain__>
but is a hard task
<steve|m>
currently searching chatlogs to find out who it was
<cain__>
many people working in reconfigurable computing change some info on .bit files
<cain__>
they know the .bit architecture
<cain__>
but, the problem is the P&R algorithm and the internal architecture
<cain__>
Right now I'm working with lm32 on SAKC
<cain__>
works fine
<cain__>
I'm trying to run plasm, bu I can't
<cain__>
I want to use plasma in my computer architecture class
<cain__>
David the main difference of SAKC FPGA is size
<cain__>
they needs a lot of multipliers, ram blocks,
<steve|m>
hm, don't find it anymore, but found something googling a bit
<steve|m>
but it doesn't really go in detail, it's more like a general description
<cain__>
yes
<cain__>
many years ago I've worked with jbits
<cain__>
a java tool for manipulate bitstreams
<cain__>
I remember that some people make some applications based on this tool
<tuxbrain>
I want to implement a module for the elphel camera that in adition of the high resolution high fps video output gives low res low fps output to use a small computer like Nano or SACK, as visor to where is cam aiming, due I have no Idea on how to do so, I think SACK can be a good sandbox to my fisrt aproaches and tests.
<tuxbrain>
in adition, can the SACK FPGA be converted in a full ethernet card?
