<nicksydney> is "power inductor" and "Chip Common Mode Choke Coil" the same component ?
<nicksydney> trying to find the component for this schematic http://postimg.org/image/psdbdxcbz/95123ed2/ for L1 (Murata LQH4C6R8M04) but can't find any looks like it's a defunct component....and can see on Murata's website that they have other similar component but bit confused
<nicksydney> this is the link to Murata selection guide http://www.murata.com/products/selection_guide/index.html
<nicksydney> it says there is inductor (http://psearch.murata.com/inductor/lineup/) and Chip common Mode Choke Coil (http://www.murata.com/products/emc/selection_guide/emc2/index.html)

<larsc> there is one about the milkymist as well
<larsc> there is this company which takes wikipedia pages and prints them into a book
<larsc> and sells them at a very expensive price
<larsc> so if one person buys it they already have their money back
<larsc> and typically their are things like libraries which have to buy one book of everything
<larsc> s/their/there/ definitly to earily in the morning
<qi-bot> larsc meant: "and typically there are things like libraries which have to buy one book of everything"
<larsc> and I forgot to mention the books are only printed when they are actually ordered
<larsc> so their model is to make _lots_ of books with no content and then just wait for people to accidentally buy them

<nicksydney> anybody here ?
<nicksydney> larsc: is "power inductor" and "Chip Common Mode Choke Coil" the same component ?
<larsc> no idea
<nicksydney> ok ... wait see if wpwrak or DocScrutinizer05 can help me out :) if they are available :)
<DocScrutinizer05> no
<DocScrutinizer05> "Chip Common Mode Choke Coil" is usually what you cal bifilar
<DocScrutinizer05> call*
<DocScrutinizer05> it's used for e.g. audio signals
<DocScrutinizer05> generally for filters
<nicksydney> DocScrutinizer05: been looking around for replacement as seems like that product is old...one thing not sure in the datasheet it outline about "Self resonant Frequency (Mhz) http://postimg.org/image/wi633v067/ ... does that normally make a huge difference if the replacement is slightly lower or higher ?
<DocScrutinizer05> slightly doesn't make much difference
<DocScrutinizer05> LQH4 size factor doesn't exist anymore, it seems
<DocScrutinizer05> yes, looks compatible
<DocScrutinizer05> should be 100% drop in replacement, except maybe for formfactor/footprint
<nicksydney> cool...thanks....will start drawing the schematics for the power supply
<DocScrutinizer05> btw that schematic seems flawed re BOM for C4
<DocScrutinizer05> unless the tayo yuden part number they listed is for a whole series of capacitors, incl 1uF and 4.7uF
<nicksydney> it says it's for C2, C3 and C4 - Tayo Yuden EMK316BJ105KF
<DocScrutinizer05> yes
<DocScrutinizer05> exactly
<DocScrutinizer05> 105 sounds like 1uF, but not like 4.7uF
<DocScrutinizer05> schematic says C4 is 4.7uF
<DocScrutinizer05> o/ afk
<DocScrutinizer05> and how's that right?
<nicksydney> i meant you were right it's 1uF
<nicksydney> need to dig around to see if TI made a mistake for that particular schematics
<nicksydney> for C4

<DocScrutinizer05> 4.7uF sounds good, but the type of capacitor is also right, just the value wrong. try to get EMK316BJ475KF or whatever
<DocScrutinizer05> or place a EMK316BJ105KF and a type like C1 in parallel
<DocScrutinizer05> would create 5.7uF which doesn't hurt
<DocScrutinizer05> are you sure you need 10V@15mA dual-voltage?
<DocScrutinizer05> you know you can't get more than 15mA out of that?
<eintopf> this mobile phone looks nice :/
<nicksydney> i need to download their excel calculator to calculate what value for the L1 need to use to get 19v ...the LCD datasheet is saying http://postimg.org/image/gk4wrqew5/c9701ab5/ (for 5inch)
<nicksydney> and also the value of R1 and R2 ..as the calculator will give you those value too
<DocScrutinizer05> nicksydney: you need a completely different circuit for backlight. You need current regulation o.O
<DocScrutinizer05> NOT voltage regulation
<DocScrutinizer05> 19V is only a sidenote value
<DocScrutinizer05> 40mA is the relevant thing
<DocScrutinizer05> unless datasheet says different (I don't like those datasheet "pictures")
<nicksydney> reading TPS61040 datasheet it says it's "a high frequency boost converter dedicated for small to medium LCD bias supply and while LED backlight supplies"
<DocScrutinizer05> cya
<nicksydney> and the features the datasheet writes• Adjustable Output Voltage Range up to 28 V converter dedicated for small to medium LCD bias
<nicksydney> • 400-mA (TPS61040) and 250-mA (TPS61041) Internal Switch Current
<DocScrutinizer05> meh
<DocScrutinizer05> do you even understand what's LCD bias?
<nicksydney> my understanding is minimum technically but what i know is the TFT requires - and + voltage ... not completely in tune with the technical of LCD bias

<whitequark> TIL: Moscow doesn't have a centralized system to control traffic lights
<whitequark> they just... kinda do their own thing, (almost) every single one in isolation
<larsc> makes them resistent against hacker attacks
<whitequark> I believe there was a recent incident when someone hacked the information panels and put hardcore porn onto them
<wpwrak> so that was the first time anyone actually paid attention to them ? :)
