DocScrutinizer05: samsungsem: just funny that their whole site would be closed like this. that looks like accident or panic. dunno any background
<DocScrutinizer05>
aah
<wpwrak>
(flame war) "singed" = burnt
<DocScrutinizer05>
err ...k
<DocScrutinizer05>
hmm, ding would have helped me out. Thanks
<DocScrutinizer05>
that term missed in even my passive vocabulary
<DocScrutinizer05>
and it's pretty much a false friend too
<wpwrak>
you should read some novels :) the books of a song of ice and fire (game of thrones) are great. lots and lots of text. and fun to read.
<larsc>
think of 'ansengen'
<DocScrutinizer05>
I hardly find the time and mood to read *anything* but datasheets
<DocScrutinizer05>
prolly idiocy ensues
<DocScrutinizer05>
datasheets and **IRC**, not the ideal teachers both of them ;-)

trying the sim/
<wpwrak>
time can be an issue, yes. mood ... well, a good book lifts your mood. and it's hard not to like the grim but ironic style in those books. if you like fantasy (medieval pseudo-history) at all, then you should give them a try.
<DocScrutinizer05>
larsc: thanks for the "eselsbruecke"
<wpwrak>
data sheets teach you a lot about how to err in translation :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
they also train your logic, to extract info where no proper info is present
<wpwrak>
ah yes, you mentioned that you like sherlock-style mysteries. indeed, there's plenty of those :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
sometimes it's even fun to find out what's been the original author's native language, the logic it comes with, and then "reverse engineer" that messy datasheet to finnaly deduce what been the iriginal intention in that gibberish
<wpwrak>
good luck if it has multiple authors :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
yeah, then it gets nasty#
<DocScrutinizer05>
well, I had a few minutes of thought before I picked the nick ".doc scrutinizer"
<wpwrak>
what surprises me a bit is that you now find what looks like indian and chinese errors in data sheets from TI, Freescale, etc. you'd think they had people who can just proof-read to check the english.
<DocScrutinizer05>
yeah
<DocScrutinizer05>
datasheet proofread isn't modern anymore
<DocScrutinizer05>
rather stamp "CONFIDENTIAL" on them. Cheaper
<wpwrak>
xiangfu: regarding making a few board, i'll need a couple of days or so to update the design files and to check the BOM. you wouldn't want to copy the mistakes i have in my current prototype :) (none fatal but annoying nevertheless)
<wpwrak>
DocScrutinizer05: so true ... :(
<xiangfu>
wpwrak: Yes.
<DocScrutinizer05>
"you can't sue us for the statement "the babblebug of Thral is delicious for tourists" - the whole text is confidential so we sue _you_ for even citing from that text. Or we feed you to the babblebug
<DocScrutinizer05>
I can't find the quote that tells about that famous bug in HHGG that tells the bug is delicious and thus caused fatalities of tourists
