ifreund changed the topic of #river to: river - a dynamic tiling wayland compositor - https://github.com/ifreund/river - channel logs: https://freenode.irclog.whitequark.org/river/
<emersion> fwiw, kanshi is a way to execute scripts when new outputs appear. not sure what's your exact use-case though
<leon-p> our use case is setting configuration options for outputs (like which layout to use) since this can not be done before the output actually exists.
<leon-p> kanshi is definitely a good solution here
<leon-p> and I assume most people uing river would use it, sincce we don't have any built-in way for output configuration

<emersion> it should be possible for a compositor to wait for the wlr-output-management client (if any) to supply a configuration for a new output before lighting it up
<ifreund> true, we could avoid imperfect frames there :)

<skuzzymiglet> hey all, I'm wondering how I could add support for overwriting mappings. Should it be its own command or is there another way?
<ifreund> skuzzymiglet: I already implemented that, you just need to pull :P
<skuzzymiglet> nice
