<winmillwill> I'm developing a project that depends on another project I'm developing locally, and one of the transitive dependencies can't be required. Is this normal and how do I troubleshoot?

<jhass> winmillwill: make sure all your other projects dependencies are declared in its .gemspec
<winmillwill> jhass: declaring them in the Gemfile is not sufficient?
<jhass> yup, it isn't
<jhass> but you don't have to declare them twice either, adding `gemspec` to your Gemfile will read a local gemspec
<jhass> so when developing a gem with bundler, add runtime dependencies to your gemspec (add_dependency), add essential stuff needed to run your testsuite to it too (add_development_dependency), add `gemspec` to your Gemfile and add any convenience stuff like pry or test coverage tools to your Gemfile
<winmillwill> I see
<winmillwill> how does gemspec work with local sources?
<winmillwill> apparently I can just override the source with the Gemfile in each project... cool.
<winmillwill> thanks jhass++
