I'm having a slightly odd problem, and either it isn't common or my googling is weak. I'm working on a rails app which relies on a utility gem (which I'm also working on). If I include the utility gem in the gemfile using "path:", everything is fine. If I include the exact same code from a git repo using "git:" in the gemfile, the bundle succeeds and the app runs, but then there are various failures in the included code.
<KludgeKML>
Does bundling a gem from a local path trigger something (inside rails? In the bundler?) that bundling a gem from a git repo doesn't?

NB: Have solved the problems in the actual code, but still mystified as to why they're the way they are. It seems like the order in which gems are loaded is affected by their source? (so in my case a gem loaded from local path is loaded later than the same one through git).
