<excoin-arturo> hello
<dominikh> Hi.
<excoin-arturo> could you tell me what im doing wrong trying to run this script?
<excoin-arturo> uninitialized constant Cinch::Twitter (NameError)
<dominikh> you haven't actually shown any of your own code.
<excoin-arturo> should i pastebin?
<dominikh> yes.
<excoin-arturo> sorry about that
<excoin-arturo> i had that require in but was confused about the path
<dominikh> it's "cinch/twitter", apparently. which is a shoddy choice on the dev's side, but yeah.
<excoin-arturo> adding 'require 'cinch/twitter' gives me a load error
<excoin-arturo> /usr/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/custom_require.rb:36:in `require': cannot load such file -- cinch/twitter (LoadError)
<dominikh> oh for fucks sake, apparently it's "cinch/twitter/simple"…
<excoin-arturo> require 'cinch/twitter/simple'
<excoin-arturo> still gives me a laod error..
<dominikh> how did you install it to begin with? there's no gem with the name the readme claims there to be.
<excoin-arturo> in Gemfile
<excoin-arturo> gem 'cinch-twitter-simple', :git => 'https://github.com/zornme/cinch-twitter-simple.git'
<dominikh> works fine for me then.
<excoin-arturo> ok so i botched the install somewhere?
<dominikh> probably. I have no idea how to use bundler correctly though.
<excoin-arturo> this was probably a poor choice of repo in my part
<dominikh> well, yes, I wouldn't recommend using that particular library to begin with
<excoin-arturo> difficult to find something cinch-related that auto-posts twitter posts onto irc for me
<excoin-arturo> without having the user initiate a request with a command
<dominikh> https://github.com/dominikh/Mathetes/blob/cinch_rewrite/lib/cinch/plugins/twitter.rb used to do that. I have no idea if it still works or if the twitter gem (or Twitter) changed their APIs
<dominikh> also you'd have to copy that code, it's not available as a standalone gem.
<excoin-arturo> cool, thank you for your help!
<dominikh> no problem
