yeah thats right. what do you mean by "headless"? I like ubuntu and I am pretty new so i dont want to learn too much at the same time :P

"headless" means that you don't need an X Server with a Desktop environment and all that stuff - ssh access should be sufficient

I just ordered mine as well. Looking forward to playing around with some OSD and media decompression code. I see that xbmc works on these devices, so that is promising. I assume that means the hardware video decompression is working

niklare: the mali gpu doesn't do the hardware media decompression, but rather the Cedar VPU. The cedar VPU is closed from what I'm reading. I figured as much tbh. Lots of idiotic patent stuff going on keeping all thise closed
