<fenn> high speed micro scale photolithography (video) http://www.tuwien.ac.at/en/news/news_detail/article/7444/
<fenn> same system could be used for rapidly making custom silicon etch masks in one step
<fenn> more about the chemistry involved http://fennetic.net/irc/two_photon_polymerization.pdf
<fenn> they achieved resolution of 120nm at speeds of ~5m/s
<azonenberg> Hmm
<azonenberg> interesting
<fenn> of course you also need a femtosecond laser
<azonenberg> Lol
<azonenberg> Details, details

<B0101> hello azonenberg
<azonenberg> hi
<azonenberg> Any progress on the josephson junctions?
<B0101> nope, but i'm researching on Quantum Dots for now
<azonenberg> interesting
<B0101> ok... peracetic acid seems like a good household cleaner though...
<azonenberg> lol never heard of it
<B0101> its CH3CO3H
<azonenberg> So one more O than acetic
<azonenberg> how different is its behavior?
<azonenberg> it seems like it'd be an oxidizing acid like nitric
<B0101> its weaker than acetic acid
<B0101> and it is an irritant as well
<azonenberg> well most acids are :p
<azonenberg> i mean even citric is
<B0101> and paracetic acid is made when H2O2 is added to CH3CO2H
<azonenberg> Does it form spontaneously?
<azonenberg> And yeah, i could see that
<azonenberg> you're basically oxidizing the acetic

* B0101 consumes lozenge after lozenge of "fisherman's friend"
<B0101> hmm... HF is banned now??? darn
<azonenberg> B0101: where
<azonenberg> they sell it in the grocery store here
<azonenberg> its only 2-3% concentration but thats enough for what i do
<B0101> they banned it everywhere and all products containing them have been recalled
<azonenberg> everywhere meaning singapore?
<B0101> yup
<azonenberg> Enjoy
<azonenberg> there's not really any substitute for it
<azonenberg> when doing oxide etching
<azonenberg> Can you still get it through lab supply channels?
<azonenberg> i imagine its only banned for consumer use
<azonenberg> Of course you dont want to be stuck unable to buy anything but 49%
<azonenberg> i would not want to be anywhere near that without more proper equipment than i have now lol
<B0101> they will allow HF through supply channels but they will need 2 weeks to verify me being in a company with a license
<azonenberg> Are you?
<B0101> i am
<azonenberg> So its a hassle but won't make you totally unable to get work done
<B0101> yup
<B0101> I am thinking of joining a school as a lab technician though
<azonenberg> So you can use their lab off hours?
<B0101> not really, but I want to join a school as LT as like like teaching chemistry
<azonenberg> Oh
<azonenberg> i see
<B0101> I fondly remember those times where I was doing chemistry in my school lab
<B0101> well i got into chemistry because of electronics though
<azonenberg> i see
<azonenberg> Same with me, except i didnt get in as deep lol
<B0101> well, back then, i wanted to make a PCB, and i found out i needed a chemical to etch it
<B0101> so I learned chemistry to try to make a chemical to etch it (I didn't know what was Ferric Chloride that time)
<azonenberg> Yeah
<B0101> i got very interested and decided to persue chemistry
<B0101> but I became a programmer because i got interested in programming
<azonenberg> i see lol
<B0101> now, i am going to do something related to chemistry as a job
<azonenberg> i was the opposite, i started out being interested in EE but didnt have enough equipment
<azonenberg> so i got into software
<B0101> ah, i see
<azonenberg> But then got into embedded systems and before long i was doing hardware again
<B0101> lol
<B0101> well, at least you know both hardware and software now
<azonenberg> Lol yeah
<azonenberg> also in case you're interested http://cmosfold.blogspot.com/
<azonenberg> This is my collaborator out on the west coast that i work with
<azonenberg> more on reverse engineering than fab
<B0101> oh ok
<B0101> NIVIDIA RIVA 128? wow
<azonenberg> That blog is mostly chips he randomly opened up and looked at
<azonenberg> and is almost all ones that are out of copyright
<azonenberg> We do a lot more recent stuff since we're interested in security/crypto
<azonenberg> but dont post most of that publicly
<B0101> ok
<azonenberg> we're working on one in particular that we may do a writeup on once we pwn it
<B0101> ok
<B0101> oh wow, turns out my old system is using a NIVIDIA RIVA 128
<azonenberg> lol
<azonenberg> Well if you've ever wanted to see one naked, now you can
<B0101> heh
<azonenberg> if you click on the pic it should give more details on the sample and a link to a high-res scrollable image
<B0101> ok
<B0101> gosh, I see pony videos everyone on youtube!
<B0101> it seems like the whole youtube is linked to them
