<berndj> the asic miners can't be *that* far behind the state of the art in feature sizes
<berndj> so moore's law might give us bigger mining chips, but i guess they'd also use more power, so there seems to be an equilibrium there
<berndj> actually, what does power consumption per gate per unit area look like as a function of feature size? is it still decreasing as we scale down, or has it started increasing again?
<berndj> (leakage becoming a bigger factor at smaller feature sizes)
