<dominikm> Hi, is there somebody having IMX6Q board (ideally sabresd) with Android 4.2? I have board derived from sabresd and i have some issue to decode interlaced h264 video. Decoding is very slow for some reason and I would like to find out if it's caused by board or build of Android I'm using...

<angolini> have you tried unit_test, dominikm?
<dominikm> angolini: no, I haven't ... I didn't know there are any
<angolini> well, it will not solve your problem, but at least it's a *more pure* test as it only deal with vpu lib and (if I remember it well) the output is on raw fb
<dominikm> angolini: I see
<dominikm> angolini: Btw. I have tested it with other devices running Android 4.2.2 and it's working perfect... and I did some experimenting with player's source code where I'm using OMXCodec and I found that if I will pass more than one "frame" in one MediaSource's buffer to decode it will decode frame in 1ms frame.. but it's very unstable and it's not fixing the problem for all cases
<dominikm> angolini: So I think that HW is capable to decode it quickly but there is some issue with buffers in my Android build... but I haven't enought knowledge to locate and fix the issue in code
<angolini> neither do I dominikm. mainly because the allocated memory for VPU is still a mistery for me. Only make sure you don't miss any freescale patch release
<angolini> dominikm: the patch releases include only patches (!) and they are easily grep'able
<angolini> dominikm: and, when you create a thread on imx.community, remember to say exactly which android version and make sure you have it reproduced on a reference board
