<leming>
afaerber, how much do you have working on that branch?
<afaerber>
leming, latest additions beyond my DT+LEDs series on the list were I2C, PMIC and USB, i.e. USB 2.0 rather than SD rootfs and SSH are working
<afaerber>
not yet investigated are any graphics or sound
<leming>
what about xhci, ethernet, and pwm for the fan?

<afaerber>
leming, SSH is working == Ethernet is working
<afaerber>
xhci is initialized okay, but my 3.0 disk attached to the blue port is recognized as ehci

the fan works as usual without any DT configuration - is there any needed? there's nothing in the downstream 3.14 tree

Wizzup, my problem is that although I've started polishing my patches, posting them to the list does not make that much sense since I am still lacking Sobs from Hardkernel - and for this device recycling downstream commits is all I've done (unlike Spring)
<afaerber>
but it's now a base to explore writing drivers for #powervr
<Wizzup>
hehe
<javier__>
afaerber: so the the downstream commits doesn't have a s-o-b?
<afaerber>
javier__, not all. but I ping'ed the author via linux-samsung-soc and he did sign off two previous patches, so I'm hopeful :)

sjoerd: I was told you're the person to talk to about graphics enablement (acceleration) on cb2/odroid-xu3
<sjoerd>
Heh
<sjoerd>
I've made it work on cb2 before, haven't played with the xu3 yet,that's later this week
<sjoerd>
And by made it work i mostly mean, did an integration tree
<sjoerd>
amitk: What did you want to talk about?
<amitk>
sjoerd: are you working with a mainline (or close to mainline) kernel?
<sjoerd>
Yeah always as close to mainline as possible
<sjoerd>
So i tend to pick up patches proposed on the samsung list + bits and bobs from the exynos reference tree as needed
<amitk>
sjoerd: so you got the mali driver working with 3.17/3.18?
<amitk>
sjoerd: I'm try to prep a tree with working mali for cb2/odroid
<sjoerd>
that doesn't come with the userspace blobs though
<sjoerd>
So you'll need to build armsoc yourself and get the blobs from either your chromeos image or arms download site
<amitk>
sjoerd: what distro is this? OE?
<sjoerd>
Debian derivative
<sjoerd>
Rebuild of debian jessie with some tweaks
<amitk>
sjoerd: aah, good. I thought there was an armsoc package in debian, no?
<sjoerd>
there might be now
<sjoerd>
can't remember whether it was already there when i put together hours
<sjoerd>
tbh I should move it to the public repos for singularity
<sjoerd>
amitk: Can't find a -armsoc packge for debian, i think ubuntu has one though
<sjoerd>
Should probably upgrade mine to a newer version and upload it to debian as well
<sjoerd>
Unfortunately the jessie freeze came faster then i had time to finish my todo list
<amitk>
right, I'm using a ubuntu rootfs, that is probably why I saw it and assumed it came from debian
<sjoerd>
other things on my todo include publishing debs for kernel/uboot/flash-kernel with our exynos tweaks build against jessie to make it easier for folks to isntall
<sjoerd>
not enough hours in a day though
<amitk>
sjoerd: :) We're focussing on getting the power management bits stable in the kernel in order to focus on the scheduler
<sjoerd>
Awesome
<sjoerd>
I'd love to see some of those patches :)
<amitk>
working graphics will allow us a more relistic desktop (ubuntu/android) to do testing with
<sjoerd>
Especially for the mali enablement as the current patchset just enables any power management as it uses a google specific framework iirc
<sjoerd>
well chromeos kernel specific
<amitk>
sjoerd: we'll post a rebased 3.18 tree (based on samsung WIP patches and kernel configs we care about)
<sjoerd>
amitk: Ooi do you have a tree which can boot on XU3 available someone ?
<sjoerd>
amitk: Awesome
<amitk>
sjoerd: the 3.18 rebase should happen this week, stay tuned
<sjoerd>
amitk: I suspect i'll start playing with my XU3 on thursday, so if you don't mind i'll give you a poke around that time :)
<javier__>
sjoerd: afaiu kevin was booting a XU3 using the exynos5420-smdk5420 DTS so it seems that are so similar that the basic support is the same
<amitk>
javier__: sjoerd: yes, we're able to boot the XU3 though Kevin mentioned that some device-specific DT bits might be missing and perhaps a patch to uboot to get all 8 cores working
