Wizzup: probably, grsec and arm aren't too friendly. i'm sure the devs would love patches though... or maybe they wouldn't. they seem the grumpy type sometimes
<steev>
okay
<steev>
so i'm finally getting around to playing with the chromebook2 again... 13"
<steev>
so, peach pi.... i'm trying y'all's kernel config though because the one i come up with doesn't want to boot

<steev>
3.8.11
<steev>
Actually I'm gonna try something, but tomorrow
<steev>
It's 4:30am here already
<Wizzup>
steev: you could try mainline? :)
<Wizzup>
steev: wrt mainline+grsec, it works better on A10 LIME's
<Wizzup>
where it seems much more stable
<Wizzup>
mostly the pax refcount thing seems to mess up

Wizzup: so wifi works in mainline?
<Wizzup>
steev: I seem to recall that it worked at some recent version, I didn't test it with the latest and greatest
<Wizzup>
I still use this exact machine as my main work machine
<steev>
the cb2?
<Wizzup>
Used to use the snow for travelling, but this one also works for that purpose...
<Wizzup>
yes
<steev>
i use the acer tegra, but mostly because 32gb > 16gb
<Wizzup>
Is that nyan-big?
<steev>
yes
<Wizzup>
several of my friends have it, hehe
<Wizzup>
I'm happy enough with this one :)
<steev>
i'm not a fan of the white but *shrug*
<Wizzup>
I guess the nvidia drivers are also much nicer
<Wizzup>
(or even nouveau)
<Wizzup>
How is mainline support there?
<steev>
i've not played with mainline on it yet - still using chromeos
<Wizzup>
ack
<steev>
i plan to soon-ishly
<Wizzup>
ah, actually chromeos?
<Wizzup>
not just the chromeos kernel :)
<steev>
yes, actual chromeos
<Wizzup>
ah, my cb2 is chromeos kernel + gentoo
<steev>
that shows how hard my job is :P
<Wizzup>
but I want to switch to mainline
<Wizzup>
hehe
<Wizzup>
p.s. wrt 16gb
<steev>
but i do most of my work via ssh
<Wizzup>
I use btrfs with transparent compression
<steev>
still nice to have some things local
<Wizzup>
helped a bunch
<Wizzup>
I tried the chromeos kernel but it made me unhappy
<Wizzup>
er
<Wizzup>
s/kernel/terminal/
<steev>
ctrl+w sucks, but other than that...
<Wizzup>
That alone ... ;)
<steev>
i don't use nano :P
<steev>
plus ctrl+x can replace ctrl+w
<Wizzup>
true, true
<Wizzup>
I guess I just like my gentoo
<steev>
that said, assuming this kernel builds... i'll be giving this a whirl
<Wizzup>
:)
<steev>
or at least i will once my local mirror finishes syncing

Wizzup: well.... my experience with mainline is... i'm getting no backlight... but mainline doesn't have a 54xx peach pi, only 54xx peach pit, the peach pi in mainline is called 5800... and i'm pretty sure that's what the 13" is, no?
