<bmbeach> hello si1v3r and everybody about updating the kernel
<bmbeach> or uboot. I just updated to kernel 4.2.2 with the usual
<bmbeach> power down problem (it give a crc check failure on the kernel)
<bmbeach> and instead of pulling the power cord I tried shutting the lid
<bmbeach> Closeing the lid -> does <- work.

<Wizzup> Hrmp. Compiled 4.2.2 with my 4.1 config (+make oldconfig) and now my initramfs segfaults during booting
* Wizzup should investigate soon

<Wizzup> So I enabled CONFIG_ERRATA_{643719,773022} for peach-pi
<Wizzup> Should I enable any others, or is that it?
<Wizzup> I'm having some weird problems (firefox segfaults on start, some perfectly fine musl-chroots also segfault) with kernel 4.1.3, with grsec (but pax disabled), and kernel 4.2.2, without grsec, outright segfaults in my initramfs
<Wizzup> ok, I fixed the 4.2.2 problem

<Wizzup> (there was an option that I ignorantly disabled, KUSER_HELPERS)

<Tenkawa> i'm trying to boot a snow chromebook with the 4.2 kernel and the screen goes white (still responds to kb input/etc),, is there a fix/workaround for this? I'll be happy with simplefb/console
* Wizzup doesn't use simplefb
<Wizzup> are you using simplefb?
<Tenkawa> I'd prefer to not use nv-uboot if possible and contiue to use my local signed/dd kernel method
<Wizzup> hmm
<Tenkawa> Wizzup: not sure
<Wizzup> may I ask why? why not use nv-uboot?
<Wizzup> just wondering
<Tenkawa> Wizzup: yet more to setup
<Tenkawa> right now i just rebuild a kernel and resign it
<Wizzup> I just build a kernel and call mkimage :)
<Wizzup> copy it to boot, done
<Wizzup> easy management of kernels, too
<Wizzup> and a u-boot console that works well
<Wizzup> but yeah, whichever you like
<Tenkawa> I wonder why the screen goes white
<Tenkawa> could that be a dts/dtbissue?
<Wizzup> I use exynos drm, not simplefb
<Tenkawa> hmmm
<Wizzup> did you use exynos_defconfig?
<Tenkawa> I'd prefer to do that too
<Wizzup> I disabled simplefb after I did make exynos_defconfig
<Wizzup> I just built a kernel for the peach-pi
<Wizzup> I can try it on my snow later if you want
<Tenkawa> Wizzup: sort of... started out as a 3.19 one
<Tenkawa> let me try a tweak or two.. you gave me an idea
<Tenkawa> thank you for the feedback
<Wizzup> and I append the dts
<Wizzup> the dtb*
<Tenkawa> same here
<Wizzup> ok
<Tenkawa> rebuilding kernel now with a few adjustments
<Tenkawa> here we go/.. brb

<Wizzup> Any clue how to 'enable' GTS/HMP for big.LITTLE?
<Wizzup> In linux 4.2, exynos 5800
<Wizzup> should I just disable the bL switcher?
<liquidAcid> Wizzup, i don't think hmp was ever merged, was it?
<Wizzup> wikipedia says GTS was merged
<Wizzup> in 3.10 or so
<liquidAcid> hmm, no idea then
<Wizzup> (I think wikipedia may be wrong)
<Wizzup> or have a very interesting definition of 'merged'
<Wizzup> (if only small bits are in place, etc)
<Wizzup> wouldn't mind seeing 8cpu's in htop on this chromebook ;-)
