<vakkov_> guys, any idea if I can obtain the bootloader of a TM2 device?
<forkbomb> it would probably be on the tizen website, if anywhere

<mszyprow> vakkov_: u-boot for TM2 is on tizen.org, but you also need a special 64bit enabled sboot (proprietary bootloader), because the stock Note4 mobiles comes with 32bit sboot
<vakkov_> mszyprow: any idea where i can get such an s-boot?
<mszyprow> vakkov_: no idea :(
<vakkov_> btw, i checked tizen.org and I never found such a u-boot
<vakkov_> mszyprow: when booting android they just jump from s-boot to the boot image, don't they?
<mszyprow> vakkov_: but you need to log in first
<mszyprow> vakkov_: right
<mszyprow> vakkov_: the problem is that in case of Android Note4 mobiles this is done in 32bit arm mode and there is no back to arm64
<mszyprow> vakkov_: note that tm2 uboot does almost nothing besides reading compressed kernel and booting it
<vakkov_> yep, i'm aware of that... they have done it because of the Qcomm variant ...
<vakkov_> mszyprow: any idea about the exception level s-boot runs at? EL1?
<mszyprow> no idea
<vakkov_> mszyprow: wondering if they need to sign this u-boot in some way

<forkbomb> anyone familiar with u-boot? trying to port it to i9300. BL2/SPL works, but the iROM's "read data from SD" doesn't seem to work

<vakkov_> forkbomb: check the talks from Oran Avraham and his exploit here - https://github.com/oranav/i9300_emmc_toolbox; if i remember correctly u-boot was getting loaded from SD because the EMMC chips of certain galaxy s3's and note 2's were dying and iRom was looking for a bootloader on the sd card... but check his two talks (bluehat and the other one here - https://media.ccc.de/v/34c3-8784-emmc_hacking_or_how_i_fixed_long-dead_galaxy_s3_p
<vakkov_> hones)
<vakkov_> oh, seems they are using tweezers to short some pads and get into sd card mode... anyway.. read the threads :D https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/galaxy-s-iii-gt-i9300-hard-brick-fix-t1916796
