<memeka>
although video stops after a few seconds, but it might be my ffmpeg code
<wwilly>
hi
<Wizzup>
sorry for that, it's cause of the spam
<wwilly>

memeka: nice to hear that the workaround is working
<mszyprow_>
memeka: I hope one day I will manage to find the proper solution
<memeka>
mpv works well, kodi stopping after few seconds i think is kodi issue - i see it's using GL for rendering instead of directly DRM
<memeka>
yeah it would be nice to have it fixed
<memeka>
maybe if video plane is implemented then it would work better :)
<memeka>
in any case, now mpv can play 1080p video with 25% CPU ... half from before :)

i'm gonna test with 4.14 kernel too, see what happens there :)
<memeka>
are there gonna be issues with interlaced video?

<mszyprow_>
memeka: I hope interlace will work too, but I didn't test that
<mszyprow_>
memeka: there is still some memory leak in the kernel, because if I left it running mvp forever after a few hours there was a kernel panic - oom killer trying to kill init
<memeka>
mszyprow_: the weird thing is that you could put the movie on pause, and it would still crash after a while ...
<memeka>
with no new buffer
<mszyprow_>
right
<memeka>
so same buffer, after 1 minute it decides to access memory outside of it?
<mszyprow_>
that is a mystery for me too
<memeka>
should it work with h-1 instead of h-2?
<mszyprow_>
please try
<mszyprow_>
I didn't have time to check
<mszyprow_>
it takes some time to trigger the issue, so I didn't check all the variants
<memeka>
yeah :)
<mszyprow_>
but it looks that there are definitely 2 issues with exynos 542x mixer in 2 planes mode
<memeka>
mszyprow_: are there still plans to implement video plane?
<memeka>
on 542x ?
<mszyprow_>
h-2 is workaround for the one, the postponing of vblank event is the second
<mszyprow_>
from analyzing datasheets it looks that those issues might be also on exynos 5420 and even 5250
<mszyprow_>
but I also didn't check yet
<memeka>
it's the same IP right? so they should be affected too
<mszyprow_>
slightly different versions, but they all in theory have stereoscopic support
<mszyprow_>
which seems to be the source of the issues
<memeka>
stereoscopic -> the 2 planes?
<mszyprow_>
at least in case of exynos4412/4210 it works fine in 2 plane mode
<mszyprow_>
not really, stereoscopic mode involves 2 hw mixer devices and some synchronization between them
<mszyprow_>
which seems to be somehow broken
<memeka>
ohhh there's 2 mixers
<mszyprow_>
even when the 3d mode is not used
<mszyprow_>
but there is so little documentation that this is still only my hypothesis
