i have troubles getting my pwm0/backlight to work. Reading 0xff680000, I can see pwm is ticking, i've set 0xff680008 to half of 0xff680004, 0xff77006c is set to 0x14001, and nothing happen. If I control the pwm0 pin through gpio (0xff77006c set to 0x14000), the backlight does light. (fwiw, before tinkering with hardware registers, I tried with pwm-backlight module on 4.8.2 and the same happen)
<phh>
would someone haave some idea about that?
<ayaka>
it seems that I meet the same problem
<ayaka>
but without the oscillograph I can't make sure
<phh>
ok thanks. I think I'll try on chromebook, they seem to be using that pwm as well
<paulk-minnie>
ayaka, I have an issue with backlight PWM too
<ayaka>
then I am not lonely, I though it is my problem what I can't enable my eDP panel
<wens>
hmm, i got my c201 working with 4.9-rc1
<paulk-minnie>
wens, getting emmc issues at all?
<wens>
paulk-minnie: not using emmc for now
<paulk-minnie>
ok
<wens>
i think the controller doesn't like my sd card though
<wens>
heavy trim ops seem to make it time out
<phh>
wens: backlight diming works?
<wens>
let me see
<paulk-minnie>
here backlight works fine on speed and minnie but it flickers after some time of use
<paulk-minnie>
so I suspect that the PWM frequency isn't well locked and shifts after some time
<paulk-minnie>
which doesn't appen with the cros kernel
