<Ashleee> what's the SPL boot offset on rk3399? Because on a device dump I have the offset where you normally boot idbloader is 0x00 :(
<Ashleee> with stock image the uboot.img is at 8MB offset and TPL/SPL at 32K offset
<Ashleee> whereas stock has got idbloader.img at 64B offset :)
<Ashleee> also on the stock image the TPL/SPL seems to be repeated 4 times but that may be just the way I dd'd it out?
<Ashleee> oh wait, seek is *512, not *1 bytes by default...
<Ashleee> so it all matches up :) nvm

<stikonas> Ashleee: I have some scripts that setup SPL boot on rk3399
<stikonas> you can take a look if you want
<Ashleee> I have problems with memory, I spoke about it here some time ago
<stikonas> at the end there is a script to produce u-boot image with right offsets https://stikonas.eu/wordpress/2019/09/15/blobless-boot-with-rockpro64/
<Ashleee> oh it was actually easier than I thought, just dd!d the first 32 megabytes from the original image and then dd'd the uboot.img I had laying around to 16k*512 offset
<Ashleee> and it booted into the latest uboot with original SPL
<Ashleee> er TPL
<Ashleee> I wonder why it didn't work last week :D
<Ashleee> thanks stikonas :) might be useful... I have got here OPi4 that works fine, it is this darn H96 Max+ chinese box "of parts that maybe work" :)
<Ashleee> but it seems to go through memtester at almost whole 4GB (>3.5GB gets OOM killed in linux :D) so that's progress
<Ashleee> before that it would deadlock at >200MB usage
<Ashleee> or just crash somehow

<Ashleee> "have you tried turning it off and on again" moment probably :)
<Ashleee> oh wait "unhandled exception in EL3" suddenly :)

<Ashleee> yup even stock ddr bin from the original box does the funny "sometimes only 2GB" :) so there's that
<Ashleee> I think thsi is gonna be a hard HW error :(
<Ashleee> still have a 2nd one :D
<Ashleee> I actually pulled the ddr flash image off that one
<Ashleee> so I wonder if they're truly identical
