<fishingisfun>
hey I have a question regarding Armbian
<fishingisfun>
I'm trying to mount a microsd card in linux
<fishingisfun>
that has been flashed with armbian
<fishingisfun>
it appears to be a fat 32, but it won't mount. it says bad superblock and it says it is mounting as read only, but I don't even get read only mount

IgorPec: i just put another patch in the forum that is required when the RT patch is used on the sunxi kernel ... fixinga BUG: scheduling while atomic... issue when using the interactive cpufreq governor
<IgorPec>
ok

<IgorPec>
_mamalala_ is it possible to simplfy this? we already have too much patches (yes, once it wound be nice to merge) ... one patch for RT and "other fixes". I can also do it some other way ...
<_mamalala>
IgorPec: sure, no problem

nice, thanks

IgorPec: should i add the patch regarding the firmware_class.c directly into 02-0005-backport-firmware-loader.patch? because that is what causes the problem in the first place

<jonkerj>
quite bizarre
<jonkerj>
I somehow got megi's DVFS patches to work on my Orange Pi Plus a while ago
<jonkerj>
without any rework, just copy/paste sy8106a and the DT stuff into the dts of opi+
<jonkerj>
and I am simply not able to reproduce it anymore, using what I think is the same source/config/dts
<jonkerj>
it just crashes during boot at a random point, just after: thermal thermal_zone0: failed to read out thermal zone (-16)
<jonkerj>
the reason it did not work before (this is my second attempt) is that had compiled sy8106, cpufreq and thermal as modules
<jonkerj>
being dependent on each other that did not work so well
MXfive has joined #linux-sunxi
<KotCzarny>
jonkerj: maybe you've used different kernel version before
<jonkerj>
when it worked, I backported a bit more (extra UARTs, all unrelated at seem)
<jonkerj>
but of course, forgot to save/commit it
<jonkerj>
and now I'm lost
<jonkerj>
I've got a kernel that works with DVFS on a opi-pc, and since the hw on plus/-pc are identical enough, that kernel should work on the plus as well
<jonkerj>
which should narrow the problem down to FDT
<jonkerj>
or does u-boot play a role in dvfs as well?
<jonkerj>
in theory the environmental temperature could be an issue, since the outside temp is ~10C higher than in my previous attempt

IgorPec: alright, worked on the patches, and also consolidated the 2.4.39 to 2.4.112 patches into a single one, see the "RT patches for sun8i kernel?" thread in the forum
apritzel1 has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<_mamalala>
IgorPec: so you can throw out the 0003- patches from me, and replace those by the 0000 and 0001 patches (yea, should have done the numbering differently, sorry)
<_mamalala>
also, 02-0005 is now fixed, so you can replace the existing one with the new one, and if you want to get rid of all the separate 39->112 patches you can now use a single one
MXfive has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<IgorPec>
there is one patch in between
<IgorPec>
for overlayfs ... is it there too?
<_mamalala>
yes, that one is in there as well, 02-0003-linux-sunxi-3.4.108-overlayfs.patch
<IgorPec>
ok, currently i can't focus on this, busy with life ... in the evening
<_mamalala>
no problem ;)
<IgorPec>
and thanks for clearing the mess ;)
<_mamalala>
youre welcome
MXfive has joined #linux-sunxi
<_mamalala>
IgorPec: i wasn't sure if i should create single patch files for groups of the remaining ones as well, since they are rather specialized ones, so i left them as they are ... but i can do that as well, just let me know which ones to combine
<IgorPec>
no, this way is better
<IgorPec>
there was a plan to merge all and perhaps it's already done. would need to check
MXfive has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<_mamalala>
oh, btw, if you look at output/debug/patching.log, there seems to be an issue with Processing file u-boot-02-support-cheap-mmc.patch ... it says "patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line" ... dunno if that is important or not
<IgorPec>
that's not a problem
<_mamalala>
ok ... i'll leave you to your real life for now then ;) see you later

* jonkerj
has got a hunch
<jonkerj>
it seems megi's DVFS table is slightly undervolted at some points
<jonkerj>
that is, when I compare it to the FEX file in BSP for the board
<jonkerj>
and it boots

and actively states that this is worth ignoring.

libv: but they are right, mali is an optional part of the bundle and one can have a reasonably functional computer without using it
<ssvb>
libv: they surely could have mentioned the lima project, but that would lead to a large inflow of people asking questions and doing nothing but cheering from the sidelines

i like what lkcl is doing, and the fact that he has stuck with it, as linux-sunxi was born in #arm-netbook which was pretty much driven by him

and i pledged like 700EUR back when he hit 50k

he better does provide a proper invoice when it ships ;)
