10:50 <hannes> depends on your concrete setup... if you hardcode the SMTP server's IP it shouldn't be too hard, in the other case you'll need to do some DNS lookups to find the MX for the destination address, and also handle failures (temporary ones) gracefully -- i.e. re-queue the mail if you couldn't reach the mail server, etc.
