<orbifx>
hannes: are you more active here than xmpp?
<h01ger>
orbifx: whats your point or actual question?
<orbifx>
h01ger: taking a pulse of liveness here. Wondering where the best (non-Github) place is it discuss MirageOS
<orbifx>
the discussion list is sadly unattended
<hannes>
orbifx: it usually depends on the time of day.
<hannes>
"is sadly unattended" <- I disagree, there is questions and answers happening on that list. if you miss an answer to a question, maybe you can re-phrase the question and send a reminder email?
<orbifx>
hannes: there are but they are flaky. Also xen and the admins haven't attended to mail delivery issues and I fear emails aren't getting to everyone who is a member of the list.
<hannes>
orbifx: at least when i had mail delivery issues, they were promptly fixing the issues. but I'm neither in charge/moderating/running the mailing list, nor really interested in meta-discussions. you can, as written on mirage.io, also post with the mirage tag to discuss.ocaml.org, and will likely find people responding.
<hannes>
orbifx: and in general, i find meta-questions "anyone around" "are you there" in group chats rather useless and usually do not reply to these..
<orbifx>
hannes: I see. I find it a natural question even if it goes against the common behaviour. Everyone leaves their client idling this days, which means the members list doesn't not mean attendance. One has to know if their words are wasted.
<hannes>
orbifx: you have seen on https://lists.xenproject.org/mailman/listinfo/mirageos-devel "MirageOS-devel list run by lars.kurth at citrix.com, amc79 at cam.ac.uk, anil at recoil.org", i.e. the communication channel for operators of the list are these individuals.
<orbifx>
hannes: I think I tried using the standard email address for mailman admins, will try those addresses too
<hannes>
orbifx: thanks! hopefully they'll be able to figure the issue out and fix it! :)
<orbifx>
:)
<orbifx>
Was looking for where to ask a question anyway, not feeling very confident in the list from experience.
<orbifx>
The question is: what should I use to resolve the IP from a domain name?
<apache2>
and I think for the list people often reply off-list for some reason
<apache2>
discuss.ocaml.org
<orbifx>
apache2: I find it strange to ask on discuss.ocaml, don't know why. Maybe because it's too specific. Also I got to enable to all the scripts and remote requests.
<apache2>
yeah, I allow *.discourse-cdn.com there and then it mostly works
<apache2>
then I don't get avatars, but I can survive that

apache2: oops sorry for that, meant to repeat a command in another tab, not a message here :P
