<DocScrutinizer05>
had another phonecall with PP. Let's see... They promised to call back
<Wizzup>
:)
<DocScrutinizer05>
good thing: last 4 calls nobody ever doubted the 180 day rule

DocScrutinizer05: keeping records and recordings? ;-0
vakkov has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<ccnnjj>
what are the laws regarding phone recordings in Germany? It'd never be admissible against Paypal (in a Californian court), so good notes are just as useful (probably more-so).
<xman>
He could always take notes from the recording.

PP issue solved
<wpwrak>
time to take that crate of champagne out of the fridge ! :)
<wpwrak>
and light the fireworks :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
hehe, I got some remaining from newyear
<enyc>
in UK can certainly keep private recordngs, and seemingly if you can announce that you are taking recording, if can generalyl be disclosed, but check your facts etc..
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: howso? what happene? did they just need to see/realize the nature of project?
<xman>
Woohoo!
<DocScrutinizer05>
enyc: 180 days expired, they needed a manual trigger to act accordingly
<edwin>
thats awesome news, transfer those funds before they change their minds again :)
<wpwrak>
enyc: seems that they needed to be informed of the passing of time ...
<DocScrutinizer05>
hehe, sure!
<xman>
Does that mean you use pp again or still done with it?
<DocScrutinizer05>
sure as hell
<wpwrak>
i guess that "reserve" is still in place ? i.e., new funds (if we admitted them) would be held, starting the game again
<DocScrutinizer05>
I discussed how to continue using PP. We could offer a product that gets instantly delivered, like downloading all the tech docs. We are 'allowed by PP' to set up such scheme and give the kind lady a call to evaluate, should work
<DocScrutinizer05>
wpwrak: yes, reserve still in place
<DocScrutinizer05>
so for now no PP payments since they would get frozen for a 180 days
<enyc>
kk
<xman>
ic
<wpwrak>
xman: for those who don't like SEPA/SWIFT, there's always transferwise. that should work, and it should be fairly inexpensive.
<enyc>
if we can show how this is going, what tasks needed to complete working product, etc. -- I can definetily try to suggest to other possible backers and the like (not meaningto nag about this, just factually // helpful)
<wpwrak>
xman: plus, i'm very curious to see how well it works :)
<enyc>
I suspect the sort of peoples who might be interested are probably well aware of paypal being a pain in general ;p
tomeff has quit [Quit: tomeff]
<DocScrutinizer05>
the question is rather whether it's worth the effort to set up another product in the shop, make sure our customers understand that 480.- for the download also make them eligible for a discount of same value on the sales price of the final product, and get that whole thing approved by PayPal
<xman>
DocScrutinizer05: Well without PP I'll have to figure something out. So guinea pig #2 it is for me.
<enyc>
wpwrak: oooh loking at the document. my view is you could write about credibility of project completion and stages,
<enyc>
wpwrak: in my view, if you can show what work/deisions is hdone vs still todo, realistic estimate of what is still needed, resources, etc this will look like something that can actually come to fruition, rather than (appearing) less cridible
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: excellent news =) HW devs in short supply in general I wonder, or just towards projects like this I wonder...
<DocScrutinizer05>
enyc: please rephrase
<xman>
Oh and just an update for design/PR front. Haven't forgotten .. Just finishing up some other projects first before I start multitasking. But will get started shortly.
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: err ... nikolaus being able to work on neo900 is excellent news
<DocScrutinizer05>
yes
<wpwrak>
enyc: yes yes, that timeline is high on my list :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
he's our "hardware house" and we wouldn't want to migrate to somebody else
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: I'm wondering if HW Developers being in short availability/supply is a more general issue, or specific to this project...
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: nodsnods, I'm very much reminded of the "the mythical man-month" book =)
<DocScrutinizer05>
enyc: it's particularly Nikolaus who's short on free work timeslots
<DocScrutinizer05>
((book) the one where the auther tells about the negative effect of adding manpower to a project that's late?
<DocScrutinizer05>
yes, that's pretty much what applies here as well
<enyc>
DocScrutinizer05: yes, amongsh lots of other things about teams and N^2 communication-costs and all the rest of it
<DocScrutinizer05>
yep, I know that book
<enyc>
i'm sure there were criticisms of it too but gave a lot of interesting thinking
<DocScrutinizer05>
"one woman takes 9 months to produce a baby. How long will it take when the team is formed by 900 women" ;-)
