<itsNotMe> Hi there, I would like to renew my question asked earlier: Any news? Is there anything "the community" should know. As the history of this project showed, there had been issues whenever the communication was low.

<drathir> or just busy ppl...
<Joerg-Neo900> metacollin is supposed to work on layout of proto_v2, alas he had a fatality in his family and thus been busy with handling since 6 weeks ago. I contacted him 2 weeks ago and he said he'd be happy about continuing to do the layout, to have some distraction from this topic. Seems real life didn't allow him to follow up on this since then. I myself am on sick leave and extremely busy with my flat collapsing onto my head (well, almost) so I need
<Joerg-Neo900> to leave for reconstruction in 10 days and until then remove all furniture etc, and I need to sort the make-a-living thing since the project can't pay me a living. Very sorry about all that but there's not much I can do about it
<Joerg-Neo900> [2017-11-27 Mon 12:14:01] [Notice] -NickServ- Information on metacollin (account metacollin):

<Joerg-Neo900> since the deal with metacollin originally been he wouldn't be available fulltime since he is also about to start his own company right now, there's hardly anything I could co,plain about. Would just be nice to have more info, though I suspect the lack of feedback from his side tells a lot about his situation
<Joerg-Neo900> again, I'm very sorry about me not being as active as I'd expect to be regarding providing updates but there's hardly anything worthwhile reporting
<Joerg-Neo900> I.E. no new severe roadblocks but also no significant progress, just "usual" everyday real-life organizational issues which everybody incl me usually doesn't even think about when planning a project
<Joerg-Neo900> the smarter project managements I've seen so far accounted for holidays, but it's very hard to account for stuff like illness, home improvement, fatalities

<itsNotMe> Joerg: As private life is the most import thing, nobody needs to excuse that. I'm just wondering why nobody is telling that the projects speed slows down for some reason as soon as a problem rises. Nevertheless just tell when new information will be expected and the project is turning good again - and of course all the best for metacollin and you.

<Joerg-Neo900> well, we noticed metacollin not responding after a few weeks, no prior info even to us. When 2 weeks ago I asked him what's up he let me know about his family problem and told me he hopes to continue work soon - so again nothing to report, nevertheless >>[2017-11-10 Fri 21:37:53] <Joerg-Neo900> metacollin had a family obligation last 5 weeks, so not much progress. <<. Now I reported about the whole story in here and I've sent another email to
<Joerg-Neo900> him. Generally I'm trying to report stuff as soon as there's something to report that's not only spreading uncertainty and speculation.
<Joerg-Neo900> thanks for the best wishes!
<Joerg-Neo900> I understand it's very unpleasant when there is no "news" happening, same applies to me as well. But I don't think I should come here with "I don't know any news, everything just proceeding within almost normal parameters though we are lacking any 'event' to report about right now"
<Joerg-Neo900> meanwhile you're all welcome to help with drafting and assembling a kickstarter campaign we will need to start when proto_v2 materializes, so we can push up the number of preorders from ~350 to the needed ~700

<itsNotMe> Yes, you told this. But on the other hand there had been actual news introduced close to a ready to publish state... Unfortunately I'm already involved in a project that eat my spare time, so no chance for further action. So I stay in a observing state.

<blammo> are there any options for trading in some New in box N900s for partial payment on Neo900?
<crox> blammo, if you already own the relevant n900 parts I think you save some money on the neo900
<crox> I guess you have to figure out whether a new-in-box n900 is worth more than what you'd save
_Chris_ has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<blammo> I have 4 of them, two still in the box, one only turned on once, and one that I used for a while that could be used for the new mother board. It would be nice to get a new screen for it though, anyway, I had the thought of using the two new ones as a start on payment for a new board.

<Oksana> No idea. What the shipment is like? And did the team already source enough new N900s for conversion into Neo900s?
<Oksana> Given that you likely have nice, new accessories in the box, you could probably gain more by selling it. No need to ship across world...

<pkill9> is there a new estimated shipping date?

<blammo> yeah, I thought about just selling them as well. Just figured I ask about them being repurposed first.
