[commit] Werner Almesberger: b2/: finish unit handling and move most of its processing to the match side (master) http://qi-hw.com/p/eda-tools/99e5777
<wpwrak>
hmm. the last one sounds weird :) s/to //
<cladamw>
wpwrak, in stdpass.fpd, what's difference between XXXX and XXXX-M ?
<wpwrak>
oh, i should remove *-M
<wpwrak>
they were intended to be alternate footprints that are more convenient for manual soldering. but in the end, both the machine-soldering and the manual-soldering versions converged.
<wpwrak>
so now both have the same geometry
<cladamw>
okay. how did you sure their sizes could be converged ?
<cladamw>
from some empirical results with your works or referred to some suggestions/links ?

meh
<Ayla>
with a 3.4 kernel you mean?
<mth>
yes
<mth>
it might be related to the way a320_controls are registered
<mth>
if I skip that part, it starts up fine
<mth>
the registration call we used before no longer exists
<mth>
I changed it from snd_soc_add_controls to snd_soc_add_codec_controls
<mth>
snd_soc_add_card_controls does seem to work :)

Hello everyone!
<mth>
I just pushed jz-3.4
<mth>
to qi-kernel
<larsc>
:)
<mth>
the upstream response to my patches is a bit underwhelming though
<mth>
I sent 6 and 0 are integrated yet
<mth>
1 is waiting for me to revise it, but the other 5 are ready to be included as far as I know
kristoffer has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<mth>
larsc: is it normal that patches show up one release later or should I start poking people?
<larsc>
if you haven't gotten a response in 3-4 weeks poke them
<larsc>
in 3-4 weeks after you sent the patch
<larsc>
are they all for the mips system?
<mth>
no, some are mips, some are alsa
<mth>
I'll look up the list
<larsc>
the asoc maintainer reponds usually within hours
<larsc>
the mips maintainer is a bit distracted atm though
<mth>
for the asoc patches, first I sent them only to the ML and got no response, then you told me to Cc: the maintainer and indeed I got a quick response
<mth>
ASoC: JZ4740: Replaced comma operators with semicolons.
<larsc>
asoc is at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/sound.git
<mth>
that's the patch title
<larsc>
but yes somehow that patch did not make it into 3.4
<larsc>
but it's in the asoc for-3.5 branch
<mth>
there are 3 patches for MIPS
<mth>
one for /dev/mem, but that was reviewed and needs work from me
<mth>
and there is no 6th patch, I misremembered the number
jluis has joined #qi-hardware
<larsc>
ralf just started catching up with the mips patches, so they should probably be applied in a few weeks
<mth>
ok, then I'll just be patient
<mth>
and submit a few more patches
<mth>
(new ones)

larsc: could you check if the following patches are ready to submit?

<mth>

<mth>
d3bc108525a79bb14c30ed9a3a2394422ad6a452
<mth>
then there is also Ayla's patches for fbcon, but one of those seems to be causing trouble at the moment, so it's better not to submit them yet, I think
<mth>
or maybe just exclude that one (3766f586676c7c19d02e74de02928eca8cc4cdde)
