<xentrac> was looking at NinjaTrappeur's low-power offline TV typewritre thing
<xentrac> he's using an e-ink screen but so far doesn't have partial screen updates working, so the e-ink screen is pretty high power still
<xentrac> and he's using a Raspberry Pi 3B to drive it, which supposedly is about 1200–1800mW by itself in idle mode
<xentrac> but he reports more like 600mW total power draw
<xentrac> I think it should be feasible to get the total power draw of an e-ink TV typewriter down to 20mW by using a lower-power microcontroller and doing partial screen updates
<xentrac> I don't think the Pixel Qi screens can go that low, can theyAAAAAAAA?
<xentrac> argh
