hi, you probably get this a lot but I'm trying to find the right way to deal with gems as root. I just installed the puppet gem which places the gem binaries under /usr/local/bin/ but if I try for example "sudo puppet --version" I get "-bash: puppet: command not found". Any suggestions or pointer in what the problem might be? here's my gem env output http://pastebin.com/p5JafAHk
<jhass>
ensure /usr/local/bin is in your $PATH ?
<mrgrieves>
jhass: thanks, do you think that's the best practice to deal with this?

yes
<mrgrieves>
I'm asking because this is a fresh fedora install and maybe being optimistic I was expecting the ruby+rubygems install to deal with this
<jhass>
(I can't imagine any other than always using the full path...)
<mrgrieves>
but I guess the binaries are placed there because that's the way gem packager decided
