<swills>
anyone at all alive?
<havenwood>
swills: ahoy!
<swills>
I'm trying to figure out where is the right place for a gem to put it's .h files so another gem can find it?
<swills>
like, the right right place. with docs that say so and all that.
<swills>
some seem to put them in Gem.Specification.extension_dir and others put them in the ext subdir of the gem dir (and no, the two are not the same thing)
<swills>
Gem.Specification.extension_dir seems correct to me, but i can't find anything that says so
<swills>
havenwood, any ideas?
<swills>
those ideas could include telling me i'm dumb for even asking of course
<havenwood>
swills: Hem, I'm not sure I understand what you're doing. You want to access a header file in one gem from another gem in a special way?
<havenwood>
swills: Sorry I'm no help. Others here know more about extensions than I so maybe hang around for a response. Or you might get a quicker response in #ruby.
<swills>
havenwood, yeah, i have a gem (nokogumbo) which uses the header files from another (nokogiri)
<swills>
not in a special way, just the normal correct way
