I generally trust nginx and php5-fpm to have pretty reasonable logging, since we've configured them accordingly.
<rpdillon>
I commented it out, plus I have the killring and undo-tree, just in case

=)

Great (-:

BTW hi zarvox, rpdillon is the person I told you I was going to help package wallabag. I'm super excited about this happening.

dwrensha: hmm, that "jscs:disable validateQuoteMarks" on line 1395 appears to have had a wider impact than I expected
<zarvox>
alternately, I forgot to reenable it at the end of the block that I intended to ignore.
<zarvox>
I think I may not have discovered jscs --fix at the point in time I made that commit, so feel free to remove that jscs:disable and run jscs --fix on it and hopefully it doesn't make a huge mess of everything :)

Guest67284: Supporting ARM is somewhat impractical for Sandstorm. Since apps run arbitrary binaries, every app would need to be compiled specifically for ARM.
<ocdtrekkie>
So only x64 is currently supported. As an aside, I don't think a board PC like a Pi is really ideal, resources-wise, for the sort of usage you are going to get on Sandstorm.
<ocdtrekkie>
Though allegedly/theoretically, it might run on an x64-based board PC.

To tie up a loose end from long ago: doing `require('os').cpus().length` in Node requires both `/proc/cpuinfo` and `/proc/stat`, so it fails in Sandstorm's sandbox.
bodisiw has quit [Quit: This computer has gone to sleep]
xet7 has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<kentonv>
dwrensha: just read access, presumably? Maybe we can fake /proc/stat?
<dwrensha>
open("/proc/stat", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
<kentonv>
I wonder what it does with it
<dwrensha>
it might need more things after that
<dwrensha>
meh, it's easy enough for me to replace `cpuCount = require('os').cpus().length` with `cpuCount = `.
<dwrensha>
err, `cpuCount = 1`
<kentonv>
yeah, but it would be nice if developers didn't need to worry about it
<kentonv>
most of the stuff in /proc/stat seems like stuff an app has no business querying. We'd probably write a lot of zeros.
<kentonv>
yeah, presumably they want /proc/stat to fill in the "times"
<kentonv>
if all that stuff ends up being zero, presumably it won't break apps
<dwrensha>
In our sandbox, require('os').cpus() returns `undefined`.
<dwrensha>
arguably this is a bug in the Node standard library. The docs say that this function returns an array
<dwrensha>
so it should do that, or throw and exception

<mrdomino>
hey, so afaik a short-term goal is for a bare grain URL to lead to a page that can get an email sent asking for access to a grain. is that accurate? how far off is it? it seems like i could then swap my redirect-to-capability links for just bare grain links.
<kentonv>
mrdomino: it was released two days ago. :)
bodisiw has quit [Client Quit]
<mrdomino>
oh, the browser window was just too narrow to show the sign in link so it didn't look like anything was going on
<mrdomino>
(possible usability thing?)
<mrdomino>
i mean there's text right there instructing me to sign in, my brain just didn't parse it because it looked like a nothing-can-happen-from-here sort of page
<dwrensha>
yeah, maybe the "sign in" part should be a button
<dwrensha>
I think it would be relatively easy for that to trigger the sign-in popup to expand
<zarvox>
should we show the sign in widget that currently shows on the root?
<dwrensha>
zarvox: hm... maybe
rustyrazorblade has joined #sandstorm
<kentonv>
zarvox: I like that
<zarvox>
it makes it clearer that signing in is the thing you need to do to succeed at $PRIMARY_GOAL
<kentonv>
we should also _not_ have the sign-in popup appear in that case

Apparently, if the results of a Mongo query have more than one document, then there's no way to guarantee that they represent a snapshot of the database at any give moment in time.

Okay, I found an open instance of mediagoblin, which doesn't have a name field, but does have a username field, and the username cannot have äccents
<aldeka>
So I think this is a consequence of using Sandstorm users' full name as their username.
