<vbernat>
hey! on 4.6, is e7c42c3a9fa0c442ae59a15ccf256224c27ef745 sufficient to make systemtap 3.0 works?
<vbernat>
Fix PR19990 by updating runtime/linux/access_process_vm.h.
<fche>
hey vincent
<fche>
vbernat, yeah, should do; dsmith's individual patches for kernel forward-ports are like that
<vbernat>
should I use those patches as well for Debian?
<fche>
I think so
<lorddoskias>
fche: where in the stap source tree was the directory which contains example stap scripts which path security vulnerabitlities
<vbernat>
fche: do you know where are those patches? e7c42c3a9fa0c442ae59a15ccf256224c27ef745 is not enough, I need 8acda2cea4688b8fca910ea8780fc29594ba6085 as well
<fche>
a 'git show DEADBEEF' from a systemtap git checkout shows both those commits fine
<vbernat>
fche: sure, but you seemed to say there was already a serie of prepared patch by dsmith
<fche>
ah I didn't mean separate complete .patch files
<fche>
I just meant that those types of stap commits were not intermingled with other unrelated changes
<vbernat>
ah ok
<fche>
see also commit #9e0b1b53034e1

the session.cxx part specifically; we'll be printing the last known working kernel version with stap -V

Im running the example script profiling/pf2.stp -- but all it produces for me are hex numbers, for user this is OK but i'd expect for kernel (as I have the debug syms installed) to kinda produce some useful out, what am i doing wrong, any ideas/suggestions?

Ok; seems you have to do stap -d kernel for it to work properly
