i want to register a certain probe for a list of a dozen or so functions, is there a way i can use a loop syntax to define the probes?

another qustion, can i set up a hw watch point for an address in userspace? e.g. i want to watch when process X changes the value of a particular variable
<eck>
i see the docs for how to do this with kernel addresses via kernel.data but it's not clear if this can be done for a userspace process

eck, not exactly loop, but probe foo.{bar,baz,zoo} { } works e.g.

re. userspace hw watchpoint, sorry, I don't know of a way. I don't think the kernel exposes such an api, but if we can find one, it'd be great

zamba: C++11 is the 2011 ISO C++ standard. If your version of g++ supports -std=c++11, you've got C++11 support. Check the man page.
<mjw>
doesn't configure make sure the right flags are added?
<drsmith>
zamba: mjw is correct, configure will test your compiler and make sure it supports C++11
<zamba>
drsmith: yes, and it doesn't

checking whether C++ compiler accepts -std=c++0x... no

configure: error: A compiler with C++11 support is required.
<drsmith>
yikes - I think we at least require gcc 4.4.7

<drsmith>
zamba: your best bet might be to try using an old version of systemtap where we didn't require C++11. Looks like release 3.1 was the first to require C++11.
<mjw>
That gcc is only 10 years old :)
