fche2: i wonder if we can do somthing similar to process_vm_readv() in stap probe contexts which allow sleeping, like probe begin/end/process.begin/process.function("...")?
<agentzh>
in case there is a bogus read fault?
<agentzh>
will that work?
<agentzh>
it seems probe begin/end/process.begin are all in syscall contexts, which should be fine for sleeping and locking?
<agentzh>
and uprobes are int3 from userland, it should also be fine?
<agentzh>
timer.profile is interrupt context, which won't work.
<agentzh>
the xeon minor page fault issue seems to be quite ubiquitous in xeon machines.
<agentzh>
oh, and process.end is in syscall context too.
<fche2>
uprobe context is unfortunately more like interrupt context
<agentzh>
ah, okay, thanks for the info!
<agentzh>
i thought it is more like syscall's traps.
