question. as samsung-exclusive developers, and as such having to deal with odin/download mode, do you have a particular like or dislike for said mode as opposed to fastboot?

hi, i'v found that samsung s5 (docomo version. kddi) does have charge working using dock port but there is no indication on status bar for that. only led indicator. should that be considered as a bug and be reported?

I seem to have soft bricked my galaxy tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113
<Veecious>
and I am researching possible solutions
<Veecious>
It will not boot to Recovery, but it WILL boot to Download (Odin) mode
<Veecious>
so I am wondering if there is still a chance to fix it

Hi. I have a problem with my SM-T800 tablet. I had it rooted and wanted to do a reset before flashing CM, but I stupidly deleted sys.
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
Since then i have tried to flash the stok FW using odin, but the process crashes at 95% just near the end. Heimdall does not work and gives usb communication error.
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
Any ideas what I could try next?

Beeblebrox-BSD: what do you want to get?
<damex>
in result
<damex>
there is a factory firmware. it formats your samsung device and does everything to restore its state.
<damex>
if you want stock.

damex: Im now stuck in download/rescue hell. The device has no OS since I erased sys :P
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
At this point I want to get something/anyting flashed and proceed from there. However, flashing the stock rom breaks as stated above
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
download or rescue are the only two modes I can get the device to boot
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
heimdall fails to communicate due to libusb(?) error
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
Odin 3.10
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
hmm re-partition?
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
in Odin you nsay?
<damex>
yep
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
I remember now. heimdall fails to retreive the PIT file
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
perhaps the partitioning is corrupted as you stated
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
damex: where is that in Odin? Do I use the PIT section?
<damex>
odin3 v3.10 => options => re-partitio n
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
or options > nand erase all?
<damex>
that helped me recently
<damex>
no
<damex>
if click it - you will get a complete brick
<damex>
of your device
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
OK, I see it now
<damex>
f.reset time/re-partition.
<damex>
and nothing else
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
re-partioiitn under optins
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
Thanks. I will try this

danex: I marked re-partition and got "set PIT file, Can't open the specified file. (Line: 2012)"" So that must be the error Heimdall gets when trying to read the PIT file.
<Beeblebrox-BSD>
Is there any way to fix this? Can I use a PIT file foom anothe tablet of same model?
