<Entropy512>
that would be my guess, although the question is
<Entropy512>
is exynos5 s3cfb similar to exynos4?
<Entropy512>
manta might be a closer starting point
<Entropy512>
not sure
<geecko>
Entropy512, i want to merge s3c-fb driver from Insignal 3.4 (exynos 4412)
<geecko>
btw this kernel would be a start, too
<Entropy512>
if you're trying to go TO 3.4 and use the insignal stuff
<geecko>
Entropy512, hwc is 99% similar, mostly renaming like exynos5 -> exynos4
<Entropy512>
I'd try to merge drivers into the insignal tree
<Entropy512>
unfortunately since there's no good baseline to compare against, it's hard to see what changes actually need merging in
<geecko>
you mean, merge drivers from sammy kernal to the insignal one?
<Entropy512>
yeah
<geecko>
that's how i was seeing it
<geecko>
but, i'm not really sure all this is needed
<geecko>
i would really need help on what i'm doing right now
<geecko>
merging insignal's s3c-fb driver
<geecko>
to our kernal
<geecko>
there's surely a way to not update all the base drivers
<geecko>
but rather modify ion and s3c-fb itself to use the old apis
<geecko>
otherwise it's just not doable
<geecko>
... that's what i tried for the past few days, but it's not possible to fix all the errors, because fixing means another errors
<geecko>
Entropy512, anyway, it's late right now, i'll go to bed disappointed :P
<geecko>
see you guys!

Hi, I was wondering whether it would be safe to try fstrim on a Samsung Galaxy S2 on official 4.1.2 with the stock kernel but with root. I am aware that performing it on ICS would result in a brick but I'm not sure whether the JB fix for the brick bug would possibly stop fstrim from working (the official fix, not the MMC_CAP_ERASE disable).
