<Donovan> any recommended URL parser plugins for Cinch?
<Donovan> yeah, started down that path... but am running into plugins/url_summary.rb:26:in `fetch': HTTP redirect too deep (ArgumentError)
<Donovan> so, it was debug that and fix it or find another plugin. =)
<dominikh> here's a fix: don't try it on websites with infinite redirects :P
<dominikh> heh
<dominikh> s/heh//, wrong window
<Donovan> lol, you mean like http://github.com/dominikh/Mathetes ?
<dominikh> hm?
<Donovan> that's the URL I was using to test
<dominikh> well, I have no problem with it. (even though I am wondering why it's not posting a title...)
* Donovan smiles
<dominikh> no exception though, so different reason ;)
<Donovan> I'll try another URL in the meantime
<Donovan> well, it does work with http://www.google.com
<Cinchy> [URL] Google
<Donovan> but not github
<Donovan> interesting
<dominikh> well, github doesn't work because of our check for github.com and only caring about commits, it seems
<dominikh> which isn't the smartest of things to do
<dominikh> (it should still not raise any exception)
<Donovan> yeah, it doesn't match the github regex, so it passes down to summarize_url
<Donovan> and that throws the too many redirects
<dominikh> uhm
<dominikh> you, sir, are reading the wrong source code
<Donovan> haven't gone into that, to see why
<Donovan> am i?
<dominikh> summarize_url is some ancient old pre-cinch commented code (or uncommented if you're on the wrong branch)
<Donovan> hmmm
<dominikh> I only see a listen that's doing work ;)
<Donovan> yes, yes I was
<Donovan> I had modified the old code to use listen_to
<dominikh> heh
<Donovan> =)
<Donovan> funny enough, it did work with some URLs
* Donovan goes to redo it
<Donovan> ya know, the old code had some better url title parsing (when it worked)

<Donovan> I'm using 'title parsing' loosly here
<dominikh> yeah, we should totally post a 3 terminals wide meta tag instead of the title :P

<Donovan> well, to each their own I suppose.
<Blzbrg> hello folks, I have an instance varaible problem in cinch
<dominikh> hm?
<Blzbrg> the "seen" example is not working, the @users variable is Nil
<dominikh> yeah, it's broken. to make it easier: if you need state, don't even consider using the basic `on` syntax, look at the plugin examples that use classes
<Blzbrg> oh
<Blzbrg> that is interesting
