<eiro> hello people
<eiro> is there a mailing list for openelec? or a nntp alternative to the forum? or at least an api ?
<eiro> (api to access to the forum i mean)
<oblikoamorale> it's a bit weird to ask about openelec in libreelec channel
<eiro> oblikoamorale: ooh sorry. i was asking for libreelec
<eiro> i chose libreelec because i read it's more actively developped but i don't know about the two
<oblikoamorale> i >think< main public relations happen on https://forum.libreelec.tv , not aware of any mailing lists
<eiro> i came to this because i want to have an open multimedia center on a rtd1295. so it seems both of those projects are a good start
<eiro> oblikoamorale: sure but web fora are very painful to use and search in. that's why i was asking for at least another way to interact with this
<oblikoamorale> hm. not much luck with rtd1295 support I guess https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/13351-rtd1295-1296-devices/

<eiro> seems to be a dead end situation until realtek play fair?

<chewitt> eiro: rtd1295 support is a dead end for now
<chewitt> it's possible to boot our core OS using one of the 4.9 kernels that exists for Armbian
<chewitt> but the kernel is fugly as hell
<chewitt> and it's an evolutionary dead-end until realtek starts to upstream their stuff
<chewitt> one of the suse maintainers (afaerber) is the self-appointed kernel maintainer, and he's been poking their stuff for a while
<chewitt> but there's only rudimentary support for booting a board in the upstream kernel
<chewitt> and .. there's no mailing list, we have a forum (even here is semi-unofficial these days)

<sopparus> vpeter, do you have any hints for compiling le 9.2 with kernel from master? i will do tonight
<sopparus> or anyone else for that matters
<sopparus> (rpi4)
<sopparus> or is it easier to do master with kodi 18?
<sopparus> i quickly tried that but died at python2build
chbmb has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<vpeter> sopparus: Change kernel version in linux package.mk for a start? No idea how things works for rpi.
<sopparus> well yes :)
<sopparus> ill see what happens
<sopparus> i dont think its kodi
<vpeter> I would suggest looking into curl version or something else network related. Doubt it is linux version.
<vpeter> Ah, I see wifi works. Strange thing.
<vpeter> First check with tcpdump on rpi and on the server at the same time to see what is going on with packets.
<vpeter> downloading some file from server with curl works?

<vpeter> sopparus: You mean curl of the same file from webdavs over ethernet cable ?
|Jeroen| has joined #libreelec
<buzzmarshall> ive not got a rpi4 so i can't say from my own experience but someone else i know said they had similar issues and swapped out the curl package in 9.2 to the newer one used in the master
<buzzmarshall> not sure if he had to play with any compile flags or not tho
<buzzmarshall> just no he said he managed to get webdav working on a hardline after that... webdav isnt something i use tho so i am just repeating something a bud told me

<fengshaun> how does libreelec handle raspberry pi's suspend? I want to know how it's done with connection to cec

<Gierthi> Hello
<lrusak> fengshaun, RPi cannot suspend
<fengshaun> hmm strange because turning off the tv seems to put the pi in sleep
<Ommand> is the pi powered by a usb port on the tv?
<fengshaun> no
<fengshaun> wall adapter
<Gierthi> anyone here also using the pi4 already? 1080p with adjustable framerate works but when enabled it produces glitches/hiccups in the image exactly every 5 minutes (hevc and avc). That does no happen when disabled (so everything runs in 60hz), but that always feels a little bit less smooth. sometimes the hiccup is just some tearing/glitch for half a second or the image just cuts to black for a second (but the audio continues as normal). The normal debugging

<lrusak> fengshaun, the pi just turns off
<lrusak> you can't turn it on again without unplugging and replugging the power
<fengshaun> lrusak, I think kodi is the one making the changes. it's not suspending, just kodi can control the tv's on/off status
<fengshaun> I think misunderstanding on my part :S
