<leowt> ive added fixed regulators just in case
<leowt> i do get somekind of fix of hdmi
<leowt> i get fb0 device
<leowt> but cant use it
<leowt> what is the proper way to easily test fb0?
<leowt> i tried to do /dev/ramdom > /dev/fb0
<leowt> but no output
<liquidAcid> leowt, instead of testing fbdev, why not test hdmi through drm?
<leowt> i can get tty btw =)
<leowt> liquidAcid, how so?
<leowt> oh
<leowt> ok
<liquidAcid> leowt, also: any reason why you're overriding the panel's edid?
<leowt> liquidAcid, sorry, what is that?
<leowt> how so?
<liquidAcid> [drm] Got built-in EDID base block and 0 extensions from "edid/1920x1080.bin" for connector "HDMI-A-1"
<leowt> im using an hdmi usb capture card
<leowt> with the *nasty* stock kernel it could not get edid
<liquidAcid> oh, and that does actually work?
<leowt> i will tri without it
<liquidAcid> with the hdmiphy being kinda picky about timings, etc.
<leowt> liquidAcid, it is more practical than having an external lcd, i can have more useful computer monitors and ajust the window of the hdmi capture =D
<liquidAcid> leowt, why not just use a 1080/720p panel?
<leowt> like i said, i can use the same space for an extra computer screen and then use it for both ends at the same time :)
<liquidAcid> leowt, i'm just saying that introducing another component (this capture device) into your playback chain is probably not the best way to debug hdmi
<leowt> liquidAcid, confirmed, edid on the capture card sucks
<leowt> liquidAcid, you are right, thats why i only tend to use when it is confirmed that hdmi works
<leowt> at least i knew that it worked with firmware edid
<leowt> liquidAcid, about the link you sent, can you explain?
<liquidAcid> leowt, which link?
<liquidAcid> yeah, you can use modetest to check hdmi without going through the fbdev emulation
<leowt> liquidAcid, can you recomend a article to quickly get in speed with the modeset -- drm --fb organization stuff?
<liquidAcid> leowt, modetest -h prints usage description
<leowt> liquidAcid, i meant about those techs and how they work/are organized in the kernel, etc
<leowt> if you know any article about that
<leowt> but tnks about the info on this modetest
<liquidAcid> something this?
<leowt> liquidAcid perfect
<leowt> tnks
