<javier__> zooko-web: as long as is a ARMv7, you only need to care about the kernel
<javier__> Tenkawa: great
* javier__ laves again
<zooko-web> Thanks, javier__ !
<Wizzup> javier__: well, you will need a distro with a recent modesetting driver, etc :)

<zooko-web> javier__: looks quite promising, thanks! Next, I'm searching for an ARMv7 kernel built by someone else that will hopefully be compatible with the Ubuntu/Lubuntu stuff that I eventually install ...
<zooko-web> Although I figure I can always locally-compile a new mainline kernel after I get anything at all booting ...
<zooko-web> Oh by the way, while I have your attention, what ARMv8 dev device would you recommend?
<javier__> Wizzup: yeah but that's true for most major distros nowadays
<javier__> zooko-web: I don't know if a distro has prebuilts kernels for these machines
<zooko-web> javier__: hm.
<javier__> some do but using the ChromeOS 3.8 kernel, not mainline AFAIK
<javier__> anyways, leaving for real now
<javier__> bye!
<zooko-web> The reason I'm asking about ARMv8 dev boards is https://lists.zca.sh/pipermail/zcash-dev/2016-January/000054.html
<zooko-web> Bye!
<zooko-web> Does anyone know where I can download a prebuilt ChromeOS 3.8 kernel for use on my xe503c32?

<adamx> does anyone know the status of using an upstream kernel on the XE303C12 ? I tried to use 4.4 with no luck, all the wiki pages are marked as out of date :)
<adamx> hmm the main page about the XE303C is not marked out of date and mentions 4.1-rc7. I'll try that, I also missed the note about the 773022 workaround

<Wizzup> adamx: snow should work with 4.5-rc1 + 1 patch for sure, not sure if that patch made it to rc2
<Wizzup> I also have it worked with 4.2 for sure, it is possible 4.3 or 4.4 broke, but I haven't heard of that
