if i where to forward port libnand in u-boot (from the old allwinner stuff) to u-boot-sunxi, would it be worthwile to look at the a23 u-boot code
<oliv3r>
no, because we do not have it yet!
<oliv3r>
time to bother eva again
<wens>
we have a23 u-boot
<wens>
it's in the sdk
<wens>
we don't have boot0
libcg has joined #linux-sunxi
<oliv3r>
ah right
<oliv3r>
so, would it be worthwile to look at the nand stuff from there to port
<oliv3r>
or just use our current old libnand
<oliv3r>
i don't wanna use boot0 for nand booting :)
<wens>
but how are you going to compare the blob to the source
<oliv3r>
what blob?
<oliv3r>
i want to add the old ugly nand stuff, to the new sunxi
<oliv3r>
it'll be an ugly hack
<oliv3r>
but it'll give us libnand support in u-boot
<oliv3r>
which means we should be able to boot from nand with u-boot
<oliv3r>
without boot0
<oliv3r>
that's the plan
<wens>
oh, sorry i misread

lol

should be doable, though allwinner had a whole bunch of APIs in u-boot that you'll have to replace

Hi guys, I've just been configuring the infrared receiver on cubieboard A20 with Cubian kernel 3.4.79-sun7i
<wickwire>
would it be relevant to include A20 changes in the wiki as well?
<wickwire>
if so, would it be ok for me to update it, if I'm able to?
<wickwire>
the changes are minimal, basically the kernel module,
<wickwire>
the udev rule to reflect the device as being a cb2 instead of mele,
_massi has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<wickwire>
and the /etc/lirc/hardware.conf file, in order to properly use lircd as a service
<rellla>
wickwire: do it! afterwards we should think of making this page more common
<wickwire>
I did have to run it manually using the troubleshooting steps
<wickwire>
ok, I'll try not to mess too much with it because all the information there was relevant to me, just try to add the A20 specifics
<wickwire>
and my current working config
<rellla>
this lirc page needs a big cleanup. the whole common Syabas stuff added by rocker has to be deleted. you can find this info elsewhere on the net.
<rellla>
simply keep the sunxi specific infos. and make it a sunxi page. not a mele page :p
<wickwire>
ok, I don't want to mess it up much because all of the information in there helped me get it to work, I was thinking of simply including a small section with my working configuration on A20
<wickwire>
and hopefully help others by saving time - but I can't say for sure it'll work on all A20 SoC based boards
<cybin>
i'm trying to install u-boot-sunxi on my sdcard to run a banana pi, but it doesn't work. according to this http://my.oschina.net/sinovoip/blog/265579 it should work. any hints? i've cross compiled with linux-arm-gnueabihf- prefix.

<rellla>
jemk: btw how is your v4l work going on? :p
<jemk>
rellla: don't know, maybe if we want to use gles someday, but disp layers are faster
<jemk>
rellla: v4l is put on hold, there are a lot of things to figure out first
