I got my hands on a 14.1" CCFL TFT LCD and I have the PinOUTS!!! 18 Pins from the back of the pannel, VDD, RxIN0(+, -), RxIN1(+, -) etc... How do I pin this up to the GPIO on the BananaPi? I Would really hate to have to solder to a Flex cable... :/ Please tell me its easy...
<wens>
you should look for a flex cable adapter/breakout board
<anti>
I have the original cord in all its glory, can mold it to where it needs I hope, I am broke and I want bigger screen. I am quite handy... Possible to GPIO it?
<anti>
There is also a strange (undocumented) 8 pin con2 that I am most curious about as well
<anti>
Sorry, ltn141at02 is the module
<wens>
well you can't just "GPIO" the LCD to any pin
<wens>
you most certainly need to connect the data lines to the LCD output pins
<anti>
I have them, is there a LCD/GPIO connection method?

Hi! I'm trying to boot up an Olinuxino A20 Lime 2 using the debian image A20-OLinuXino-Lime2.sdcard.img but I get no HDMI output. What am I doing wrong?

libv: FYI nginx at maxima had logrotation enabled, but only for .log... I extended that to .err. but most of the / space was been eated by the apt cache (1.5GB!) ... apt-get autoclean frees that space

<libv>
ah
<libv>
i just headed to /var/log as a first possible culprit for a server
<libv>
cool, all's well then :)
<suitsmeveryfine>
I also get no serial output. So I've used the 'dd' command to write the image to the microSD card. I'd really appreciate some help here.
<suitsmeveryfine>
I've also tried this image: firmware.A20-OLinuXino-Lime2.img
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: have you looked at the contents of the sdcard?
<libv>
i would think that the second is for fel/livesuite
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: The strage thing is that after sucessfully writing to the disk I can't read its contents
<libv>
so you knew that before, but only decided to tell us about it now?
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: where did you dd to?
<suitsmeveryfine>
I'm sorry but I thought this was normall u-boot behaviour
<libv>
and check if there is a big _file_ in /dev/
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: u-boot sits in the first 2 mb
<libv>
the rest has at least one standard partition
<libv>
and you can mount that partition
<libv>
s/partition/filesystem/
<suitsmeveryfine>
I see. So I should expect seeing some content on the card. Well I can't mount it, only after formatting it
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: are you sure that you are dding to the right /dev/ ?
<suitsmeveryfine>
yes
<suitsmeveryfine>
The card, 32 GiB in size, is formatted as FAT 32. Could this be a problem?
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: dd with an image should overwrite the whole card.
<suitsmeveryfine>
I've done dd many times before. It's only trying to write u-boot + debian images to this SD card that has resulted in an unmountable device
<suitsmeveryfine>
1048576 bytes transferred in 0.280879 secs (3733194 bytes/sec)
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: this is the same size as the the image itself.
<suitsmeveryfine>
And again, as soon as I've written the contents to the file, the card becomes unmountable
<suitsmeveryfine>
*"to the card", sorry
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: where did you get this file?
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: stangely, there are no md5s or similar for those images
domidumont has joined #linux-sunxi
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: heh, you should actually go to #debian with those.
<libv>
those images could be broken
<libv>
and why the hell are there no md5sums
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: You're right. These are supposed to be official images
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: just do the manual build howto, and then install a standard armhf rootfs
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: I've got a working USB key with Debian 8 armhf (that is, I can see the contents in there). Maybe I can just install u-boot onto the SDcard. In that case, which image?
leviathancn has joined #linux-sunxi
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: manual build howto.
<suitsmeveryfine>
In the Debian guide?
<suitsmeveryfine>
OK, I see it
<suitsmeveryfine>
thanks
<libv>
suitsmeveryfine: this is #linux-sunxi not #debian
<suitsmeveryfine>
Yes, I realized that. Sorry
<suitsmeveryfine>
libv: discovered what I did wrong: two Debian images need to be concatenated into one "complete" image which should then be written to the SD card.
<suitsmeveryfine>
I've completed dd and now I can see the contents of the card.
<suitsmeveryfine>
Thanks for your help libv. You pointed me in the right direction by explaining that I should be able to mount the drive.
