<sb0> whitequark, do you know if the CF35 screws/nuts that I have right now are metric or imperial?
<whitequark> can you measure the screw OD?
<whitequark> there's calipers on my desk
<sb0> fractional thread == imperial thread, correct?
<whitequark> Mn is generally (n-1).95mm
<whitequark> if new
<sb0> well anyway it doesn't matter, i'll need to get new screws for the cube - those are too long

<sb0> whitequark, if we take your HV power supply, one of your diodes (or 4 for a full bridge rectifier), and 2/3 microwave oven capacitors in series (to increase max voltage), can we get a decent 4-5kVdc supply for the ion pump?
<sb0> are your diodes fast enough?
<whitequark> why should they be very fast?
<whitequark> 80ns
<whitequark> one issue though is that the diodes are only good for 5mA
<whitequark> I do have lots of them though...
