still deciding if I should submit an offer (most likely will) for those piezo drives.. 12mm travel w/ 0.05um steps seems very good to me for what I am after

<Noxz2>
wow, nearly completely forgot the acronym LIGA

<garit>
good for you, Noxz2, i didnt even know this one =)
<Noxz2>
which one?
<Noxz2>
LIGA?
<Noxz2>
it's usually used as LIGA-X, implying using xrays to expose the pattern, which obviously is not available to the DIY guy
<garit>
yeah, reading about it. sounds overcomplicated
<Noxz2>
LGA is specifically for electroforming w/ the PR
<Noxz2>
LIGA
<Noxz2>
and it's also a german acronym
<Noxz2>
but yeah, I'll be looking at a bunch of electroforming stuff, and preferbly modestly thick, so not sure if any of the films available will suit my needs.. would love to come up on a small bottle of SU-8, though removing it is a bit hard from what I've read
<Noxz2>
I think I will probably submit an offer for the piezo drives tonight
<sync>
su8 removing is pretty easy
<Noxz2>
oh? things I have read says difficult
<Noxz2>
for the post, exposed area
<Noxz2>
I assume some good solvents could do it well
<Noxz2>
which I have plenty of nowadays since I got into chemistry
<Noxz2>
sync: so you have worked with it before?
<Noxz2>
I know I have chatted with you before regarding this general topic, but it's been a good while
<sync>
well, I only worked with it briefly, but I had no real issues getting it off, we mostly used plasma ashing
<sync>
although some process used acetone in the sonicator
<Noxz2>
I have ultrasonic homogenizers, so that should be a problem
<Noxz2>
just getting some will be the issue, I know of one guy around town that may be able to help me on that
<sync>
you can just buy it from the manufacturer
<Noxz2>
and acetone is stupid cheap, so whatever
<Noxz2>
microchem?
<sync>
yeah
<Noxz2>
so they dont need a business address?
<Noxz2>
it's just expensive
<Noxz2>
which isnt much of an issue..
<Noxz2>
there's the right tool for the job, and why use anything other?
<sync>
yeah, it is just expensive
<Noxz2>
but I certainly want to push forward on this.. I have to have somethign else to do while I reflux things for hours ;)
