<hste>
jas-hacks: I got 5Mbit extra from my ISP they called and said they had had some problems in my area so they gave me 70/10 instead of 70/5 :)
<hste>
jas-hacks: so better bw for people to download your stuff now
<jas-hacks>
hste: wish my ISP would you give me some extra bandwidth, I'm stuck on 8/1
<hste>
jas-hacks: they wanted to give me a hd-pvr but I told them I didn't need that so they gave 5Mbit instead
<jas-hacks>
should have asked for both ;)
<hste>
jas-hacks: I don't have a hd-tv :)
<hste>
jas-hacks: have you got better ethernet speed on your box now?
<jas-hacks>
hste: yes it was dts issue, so I have working 3.10.17 kernel on debian rootfs with 3.10.17 libs.
<hste>
nice. how does x run on that?
<jas-hacks>
x runs slower with newer vivante_drv.so, it also has the Xrand problem as the resolution needs to be explicitly stated in xorg.conf otherwise you can end up with 640x480 or a blank screen.
<hste>
That sound bad. Hopefully it will get fixed
<jas-hacks>
in yocto they have stayed with old vivante_drv.so to get round the problem
<hste>
so it will run the older one on the new galcore?
<jas-hacks>
no newer galcore, just the exa driver (vivante_drv.so) is missing the Xrand support
<jas-hacks>
otavio: hi, is 3.10.17_beta becoming a GA release?
rz2k has joined #imx6-dev
<otavio>
jas-hacks: The GA is not yet released
<otavio>
jas-hacks: and the Xorg resolution regression has not yet been fixed
<otavio>
jas-hacks: but 3.10.17 has a new galcore (p13 as called by Vivante)
<jas-hacks>
otavio: You can work around the Xorg resolution issue by defining a"modeline" and "monitor" config in xorg.conf,that is way I'm doing for now.
<otavio>
jas-hacks: yes I know
<otavio>
jas-hacks: but this is a regression as it ought to respect EDID and bootparam
<jas-hacks>
otavio: any ETA on a fix?
<otavio>
jas-hacks: NDA
<otavio>
jas-hacks: when it is fixed/can be shared I will put it in beta
<otavio>
jas-hacks: by the way it'd be nice to have you using Yocto :D
<otavio>
jas-hacks: you does a great work :D
<jas-hacks>
otavio: ;)
<hste>
otavio: do you work 24x7 on yocto? :)
<otavio>
hste: most of our customers uses it
<otavio>
hste: so currently I'd say 12x6 ;-)
<hste>
:)
<hste>
otavio: how do I build yocto with the beta?
<otavio>
use master-next
<hste>
otavio: so if using master-next it should use the beta?
<otavio>
hste: just need to set the kernel option
<otavio>
hste: but gpu and vpu, yes
<hste>
ok
<hste>
is the backport of 3.0.35 also there?
<otavio>
yes
<hste>
:)
